The ambience just calm me down moment I stepped in OhanaJo. The studio is huge with high ceiling, it makes you breathe more freely. Well equipped with all accessories for the class. Only if the aircond could be tune warmer during the sound bath, it feels kinda chilly to me. I enjoyed Joycelyn class so much that I’ll definitely be back again.

OhanaJo is one of those rare spaces that feels like a sanctuary the moment you walk in. I’ve now been to both their Sunway SPK Damansara and Plaza Arkadia outlets, and each offered a different but equally enriching experience.

The Sunway SPK outlet had a truly stunning and homey vibe; perfect for deep reflection. I remember it being on the pricier side before, but honestly, the value you get from the space and the sessions makes it absolutely worth it.

This time, I visited their Plaza Arkadia location. While the studio there was more minimal compared to the house in SPK, the atmosphere was still calming, welcoming, and beautifully held. It’s a safe space that allows you to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

I attended the “Manifesting Your Dreams with Inner Healing and Sound” class by Amber, and it was a 90-minute journey that flowed so seamlessly, it felt like time disappeared. The class was thoughtfully guided, with deep questions, healing sound vibrations, and space to connect inwardly.

If anything, I wished there was more time to sit with the reflections and let the sounds sink deeper. But that’s also the beauty of it; it leaves you wanting more, while gently reminding you to trust the process.

As someone who meditates often at home, I deeply appreciate the shift that comes with a guided group experience like this. The energy, the intention, and the facilitation make it incredibly powerful.

They also have some great promos going on, so it’s a good time to check them out if you’ve been curious. I’ll definitely be returning again, this place has a way of pulling you back when your soul needs a reset.

One of my favourite yoga studios in KL! I love how diverse the teachers are in both their strengths and styles—especially Kevin and MS dellyn who are pretty patient and well knowledgeable. It means every class offers something unique, and I genuinely enjoy the variety.

What really stands out for me are the specialized classes in inversions, arm balances, and backbends. It’s amazing to have the space and support to focus on specific areas we want to improve in.

Jal Yoga Malaysia (The Row Studio) – A Perfect Reset in KL

I had the pleasure of taking a restorative yoga class at Jal Yoga Malaysia (The Row Studio) in Kuala Lumpur, and it was exactly what I needed. Nestled in the heart of the city, this studio offers a peaceful retreat from the constant buzz of KL. From the moment I walked in, the space exuded a sense of calm, with its clean, welcoming ambiance and a staff that made me feel at ease right away.

The restorative class itself was fantastic—gentle, deeply relaxing, and perfectly paced. The instructor guided us through poses that helped release tension, allowing me to fully unwind and reset. It was the ideal antidote to the fast pace of city life, leaving me feeling recharged and centered.

Every time I practice yoga, I find myself in a much better mindset, and this class was no exception. If you’re in KL and looking for a way to slow down, Jal Yoga Malaysia (The Row Studio) is the perfect spot to reset and reconnect. Highly recommend!

Always a good experience and I am starting my 2nd year with JAL Yoga. I am not very active person but that changed after I tried Yoga here. The instructors are very attentive and always adjust / correct my posture. The receptionist Judith is also nice, she helped me arrange payment with discount to my best interest Totally recommend this place.

I really enjoy Nikhil’s yoga classes. He gives us many opportunities to explore and challenge ourselves, allowing my body to stretch deeply and gradually discover its potential. I never thought I could learn to do a headstand, but with his guidance, I’m slowly getting there. Nikhil is also a fun and engaging teacher, which makes it easy for us to relax and be fully present during class. His approach creates a safe and encouraging environment where I can grow both physically and mentally.”

I’ve been travelling in Asia and in every location trying yoga places. Jal Yoga in KL is by far the best place I’ve been to. Everything super clean, nice-looking, registration well-organised, and most important – yoga teachers are awesome!
Thank you Jason for your sense of humour and positive energy, Raja for professionalism and patience, Smutrica for your kindness and deep practises!
It was a great experience and I recommend this place to everyone.

It’s a wonderful place to start your yoga journey. Though this isn’t my main go-to branch but I enjoyed coming here. Free parking is really based on luck, you’ll see cars parking on the roadside along the Row’s strip.
Jal Yoga is smacked in between two eateries, you won’t miss the entrance to the staircase if you’re not distracted by the happy hour crowd.
The space itself is beautiful, cozy and clean. Receptionist is nice and friendly. Unlimited drinking water .
Why I said this place is great for anyone starting their yoga journey – awesome and professional instructors. Encountered at least 4 different teachers here and each one is very attentive, making every session engaging in their own ways, helping every student achieve their goals. I came with close to zero knowledge of yoga, zero flexibility and zero strength after injuring my back. It’s been a month and I’m feeling better after each session of different classes. So yea, worth checking out for sure, and start exploring what your body can achieve.

I signed up for the Wheel Yoga Teacher’s training course here for 3 days at Jal Yoga. Teacher Vinu is an amazing teacher! He helped me go into harder poses which I cannot do before. The course was very structured with lots of practice session but I wish it could be longer. Jal Yoga did a good job organizing the course and we even get a cake at the end of the course. I was nervous I didn’t have much experience when I took the course but Teacher Vinu and the other students made it an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Totally worth the price!

A Breath of Fresh Air – My Yoga Journey with Perl

“Why yoga and not other forms of exercise?” That was the very first question Perl, our lovely instructor, asked me during our initial briefing. Without missing a beat, I replied, “I want to improve my muscle strength and mobility.” Little did I know, that simple answer would open the door to such a transformative (and surprisingly enjoyable!) experience.

From the very first class, Perl created a space that felt calm, supportive, and welcoming. Each session wasn’t just about physical movement—she beautifully wove in moments of meditation and breath-work that helped soothe not just the body, but also the mind. I would leave class not only feeling physically stronger, but mentally lighter too.

What stood out the most was Perl’s attentiveness. She has an incredible ability to spot even the subtlest misalignment and gently guide you into the right posture. Her encouragement is constant, and her care genuine—I’ve always felt completely safe and supported under her watchful eye.

Now, after just four lessons, I’m thrilled to share a little victory: I can get up from a squatting position without using my hands for support! For me, that’s a huge milestone and a clear sign that my leg strength and knee mobility have truly improved. It’s honestly amazing how much progress can happen in such a short time.

Yoga with Perl has been inspiring, empowering, and unexpectedly fun. I’m excited for what’s to come, and if you’re thinking of starting your own journey—don’t hesitate. You might just surprise yourself too!

Wonderful experiences with Perl. She is incredibly attentive and always makes sure students are breathing correctly throughout the practice, which has made a huge difference for me. She also focus on proper walking posture, which is something I’ve never had in a yoga class before and found super valuable. The class is beginner-friendly, with clear instructions and a supportive atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone starting out or looking to improve their body awareness!

I was invited to join Perl Jade Yoga from Perl after she noticed the tension in my body and abnormal posture I displayed compared to an ideal person. Have been attending for a few weeks and I could notice a stark improvement in myself, physically and emotionally.

Before my first session, we had an introductory class. Perl will explain and demonstrate some basic movements that are consistently practiced throughout the session.

The classes were very helpful in reshaping my body back to an ideal position. I always feel so much more relaxed after all her classes. It was definitely a good yoga class owing to the small group, allowing Perl (our yoga instructor) to rectify our position individually.

I recently attended my first-ever yoga session, and I had the privilege of learning under Perl Jade. As a complete beginner, I was a bit nervous, but Perl immediately made me feel comfortable and welcomed. She guided me with patience, clarity, and genuine care, making the experience both enjoyable and meaningful.

Her instructions were easy to follow, and she took the time to ensure I understood each pose, adjusting and supporting me when needed. What truly stood out was her calming presence and how she created a peaceful atmosphere throughout the session.

Thanks to Perl, my first experience with yoga was not only positive but also inspiring. I left feeling refreshed, more aware of my body, and excited to continue my yoga journey. I highly recommend her to anyone — whether you’re new to yoga or looking to deepen your practice. She’s a wonderful guide.

I had my first ever experience with Yoga and totally grateful it was with Perl and I must say it is truely amazing. My experience had been truly amazing – First class just got me so enrolled – Perl started of by spending time alone and very patiently explain to me how the class will be conducted – I felt included clear and felt like I am in a save space.

The rest has continued to be great – I never imagine I could do some of the post but with Perl support I amaze myself, I learn to breath correct and my posture has improved and looking forward to continuing my progress

Thank You Perl

Have been practicing yoga since a year ago. My first ever yoga session was with Su Lynn and I remain committed to her classes every Saturday. I also joined few other classes with other instructors and they were all so kind and empathetic (Ariel, Elena, Gayatri, Fibi) If you wanna break your sweat, can join intense class with Abi. She’s rock!

The studio radiates a serene, modern elegance that blends nature with urban sophistication. Roadside parking is widely available near the studio. Free flow of plain water, yoga mats are provided but it’s highly encouraged to bring your own. Clean washroom with shower.

For muslim joining evening class, there’s no dedicated prayer room but can ask the staff. They nicely allowed me to use the studio (once everyone has left).

I found my peace here

and the instructor Vivienne was very welcoming as this was the first time I have attended a class on the “Sound Bath Journey”
Her instructions were clear and one was immediately put at ease.

I attended the Power Flow with Cheryl on Saturday and it was amazing. The studio is beautiful and the class was one of the more thoughtful I think I’ve ever attended. It was a full body flow that concentrated on investigating variations on Pigeon Pose. I’ve never really thought of the potential and complexity of a single pose before so this was kind of mind expanding in terms of my perspective on Yoga generally. Incredible. If I travel through KL again, I will definitely be back!

This place is not just breathtaking, the class was fantastic. Exactly what I needed to recover post-op. I’m not a beginner yogi, so if I were to sign up for beginner classes just to accommodate my recovery phase feels a little off. Both studios are STUNNING and nestled into a wooded garden of a modern house with either big screens for a cross breeze or AC if needed. The manager, Marlene, was beyond welcoming! Never thought that I will fall in love with yoga after I stopped practicing two years ago. Starting again after taking Phoebe’s yoga class, her soothing voice and sound baths really help relieve stress from work throughout the week.

The environment here is calm and peaceful. I often attend weekend classes and so there is plenty of parking spaces.

Additionally, check out We Heart Studio, as they not only offer yoga classes, but also HIIT (cardio & strength), Weight Training, Muay Thai, Inside Flow Yoga, Aerial Yoga and more.

Just started Yoga a few months back. I have tried Yoga before but didn’t not really enjoy it. Since started learning from Parul, I got the hang of it. She teaches with good techniques and that helps me to learn how to progress from one stage to another.
Though it is a group class, Parul pays attention to every individual’s capabilities and limitations and help us progress basing on our capabilities.
She operates from a nice and airy studio in Sri Hartamas. Recommended.

I joined Shradha Yoga only a couple of weeks back in June. I really enjoy the sessions with Paarul as she ensures the whole mind-body experience.

My whole experience culminated into our celebration of the International Yoga Day on Sunday (a delayed celebration). What an experience! Practicing yoga out in the open, being one with nature, sensing the Group energy and focusing on the breathing. The result? 120 sun salutations, exceeding the target of 108 and by far exceeding my expectations!

Thank you Paarul for creating a wonderful experience in all the sessions. I do look forward to these sessions!

It’s been a great experience with Parul, I have been on a long stay in KL and wanted to give myself the gift of being present in my body for the time. She explains postures very thoroughly and guides you really well throughout the practice and adjusts postures according to your own capability. She is always present and great at following up with schedules. I am back now and completing my second package of classes online. I still feel she is with me every step of the way. So very grateful

Teacher Parul is very experienced and patient in teaching and guiding all the yoga poses. She even noticed on the first day I joined which I had a problem of over extended elbow. And she explained well and always remind me to ensure I am not injured. I am very happy to found her because all her classes are just so fun and enjoy. That is why I don’t mind travel more than 30 mins to attend the class.

I’ve been a Green Loft member for nearly a year, and it’s truly been an incredible journey. I started attending their yoga and sound healing sessions back when they were at their original loft studio, and have since followed them to their new, peaceful space in Taman Desa. Every class I join has been thoughtfully guided, with instructors who align the sessions with each unique theme.

Recently, they’ve started introducing new classes and workshops, adding even more variety and depth to the experience. It’s a safe space to recharge, reconnect, and grow.

I’ve been attending this yoga class every week for since April, and it’s become an important part of my life. The instructors here are incredibly genuine — there’s a sense of real presence in the way they guide each session. Nothing feels scripted or forced.

They also hold monthly workshops that go deeper into technique, breathwork, or philosophy. It’s a great way to stay inspired and continually learn — I really appreciate how they consistently offer these to help us grow.

What I appreciate most is how I leave every class with something meaningful — not just a good stretch, but a feeling, a note, or a reflection that sticks with me through the week.

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, this class offers a safe, calming space where you can just be. Highly recommend.

Erica Chang

I’ve attended many yoga classes in KL, and this studio has one of the nicest environments. There’s a cozy lounge area, a small kitchen, books, crystals, art, and a spacious, clean classroom with lovely plants.

However, I have some reservations that would prevent me from inviting friends to future classes:

1. Waiting Area: Upon arrival, you have to wait outside on a small stairwell until the previous class finishes. This leaves little to no time to settle in and change, especially if you’re coming straight from work, as the changing rooms and restrooms are inside.

2. Instructor Engagement: Unfortunately, the instructor I had was rather “robotic”. It seemed like she was doing her own practice rather than on helping students. With about 12 people in the class, I noticed that several struggled to keep up, but the instructor didn’t offer much assistance or adjustments. By the second half of the class, one person essentially gave up and sat out, while two others also stopped following the movements. The lack of support created a vibe that felt unwelcoming; I was surprised to see a yoga class so disengaged.

※ If you follow the directions on Google Maps, change your search to “Rebarre Studio”, it’ll give you a more accurate result. (Karma Yoga School is in the same building as Rebarre Studio)

※ Free lockers provided

※ If you don’t have your own yoga mat, you can rent one at the front desk for RM10

A yoga school that’s definitely worth visiting. It’s my first yoga studio, fell in love after trying it, and the rest was history.

Committed teachers who are always passionate about yoga and their teachings. They provide modification and adjustments that would work for you.

A safe space for you to commit to your practice.

In a nutshell, think less and come flow with us at Karma Yoga and let the experience unravel on its own 🙂 ‍♀️

I’ve been a student for this yoga studio for almost three years and I’ve never once regretted the decision. What I love most is that they don’t promise quick fixes like “learning a handstand in five days”. Instead, they focus on the journey, helping me build strength, awareness, and patience to unlock each pose over time.

The instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely care about the progress, no matter what level. This place has become more than just a studio for me. It’s a space for growth, inside and out. Highly recommended!

Not the ordinary yoga centre.

Joined Karma Yoga during the MCO and now I have a community that supports my journey of becoming.

Thank you Jen and the teachers for creating such a positive and nurturing space for us.

I really enjoyed my class at karma yoga.

It’s located right in the heart of Bangsar and has a variety of classes that I’m definitely looking forward to trying soon.

Street parking is a little tough for night classes, would recommend parking in Bangsar Village or underneath the Sports Direct instead.

Frequently Asked Questions about Yoga Centers in Kuala Lumpur

What types of yoga are offered at yoga centers in Kuala Lumpur?

Yoga centers throughout Kuala Lumpur typically offer a diverse range of yoga styles. You can often find Hatha yoga (a foundational practice), Vinyasa yoga (flowing sequences), Ashtanga yoga (a more rigorous system), Bikram yoga (hot yoga), Yin yoga (a slower, more meditative style), and Restorative yoga (focused on relaxation). The availability of specific types depends on the individual center’s offerings.

How much do yoga classes generally cost?

The cost of yoga classes in Kuala Lumpur can vary significantly. Drop-in rates often range from approximately 80 to 150 Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Many centers offer packages, such as monthly unlimited passes, which can be more cost-effective if you plan to attend regularly. Introductory offers or discounts for new students are also common. Checking the center's website is the best way to determine current pricing.

Do I need any special equipment to attend a yoga class?

Most yoga centers provide mats and props, such as blocks, straps, and bolsters. However, some people prefer to use their own mat for hygiene or personal preference. Comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement is essential attire. You might also consider bringing a towel and a water bottle to stay hydrated.

What is the best way to choose a yoga center?

Selecting a yoga center is a personal decision. Consider factors such as location, style of yoga offered, the teacher’s experience and teaching style, and the overall atmosphere. Reading reviews from other students and visiting the center for a trial class can be incredibly helpful. Many centers offer free introductory classes.

Are yoga classes suitable for beginners?

Most yoga centers welcome beginners. Many offer classes specifically designed for those with little or no prior experience. These classes focus on foundational poses and proper alignment. It’s a good idea to inform the instructor that you are a beginner so they can provide appropriate guidance.

What is the typical class size?

Class sizes in Kuala Lumpur can vary depending on the popularity of the center and the time of day. Some classes may be smaller, with fewer than 10 students, while others can accommodate larger groups of 20 or more. Smaller classes may offer more individualized attention, but larger classes often have a more energetic vibe.

What are the hygiene practices typically followed?

Given the close physical contact involved in yoga, maintaining hygiene is paramount. Reputable yoga centers emphasize cleanliness. This includes regular cleaning of floors and equipment, providing hand sanitizer, and often encouraging students to wipe down their mats before and after class. Some centers may also provide individual towels.

What should I do if I have an injury or medical condition?

If you have any pre-existing injuries or medical conditions, it’s absolutely crucial to consult with your doctor before starting yoga. Inform the yoga instructor about your condition before the class begins. They can offer modifications or suggest alternative poses to ensure your safety and prevent further injury.

What is the best time to attend a yoga class?

The best time to attend a yoga class depends entirely on your personal schedule. Many centers offer classes throughout the day, from early morning to evening. Weekends are often popular, so classes may fill up quickly. Check the center's schedule online to find a time that works best for you. Consider whether you prefer a morning energizing session or an evening relaxation practice.

Can I try a class before committing to a membership?

Many yoga centers offer drop-in rates or trial classes that allow you to experience their teaching style and environment before committing to a membership. This is a highly recommended approach, as it allows you to ensure the center is a good fit for your needs and preferences. Some may offer a free introductory session specifically.
