Decided to have our dinner here starting with the staff, they were very welcoming and served us really well. Even though we arrived after 9 pm, they politely informed us about the last order and explained it in detail, so we could decide quickly and make their work easier. The space was just nice, but the vibe was even better the playlist really made our dinner feel more enjoyable! As for the food, it was presented beautifully and looked absolutely delicious. Taste-wise, I’d give it an 8/10. We still enjoyed our dinner a lot, and it’s definitely a place with plenty of spots for you to chill, whether it’s day or night.
Came here through googling as I was bored in my room. Looking to chill in a coffe house. Looks good on the photos. Took a Grab and arrived in 15 mins from Le Meridien Hotel. We ordered Nasi Lemak Platter, Mushroom Soup and Pokok's Fish and Chips. The food is good. I can say it could be better. Nasi Lemak's sambal is stronger on the ginger taste but it is uniquely theirs. The fish and chips is almost generic taste but the fish is fried with crips crumbs and the dips sauce is tastier when you give it a bit of the lemon squeeze dropsThe ambience is to stay for. Order your coffee without ice and you will enjoy a chatting time or just chill absorbing the views. The coffe is not strong but the aroma is sweet and bitter. Iced, it will take away the coffee taste when it melted. Anyway, we stayed for more than an hour just to relax and chat. Barrista and the staffs are super friendly and nice. They even assist you to take some snaps of instagrammable photo for you. Thank you for the experience. Will visit again whenever i am around.
Pokok is an absolute gem! My experience was nothing short of fantastic, and it's easy to see why this place earns a five-star rating. I ordered the steak and egg, well done, and it was cooked to perfection. The steak was incredibly flavorful, and the sauce that came with it complemented the meat beautifully. A special shout-out has to go to the tomatoes served on the side. They tasted so fresh, as if they were just picked from a garden. It was a simple addition that really elevated the dish—truly a chef's kiss moment! But the food wasn't the only star of the show. The all-you-can-scoop tiramisu cake was heavenly. It was rich and decadent but not overly sweet, making it the perfect dessert with that "tita vibes" taste. It was so good it was addicting! The staff also deserves high praise. Kenneth and Jason were especially commendable. They were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had a great dining experience. Their excellent service truly made the meal even more enjoyable. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. If you're looking for great food and amazing service, Pokok is the place to be.
In love with the aesthetics of this place, absolutely amazing, calming and relaxing. The glasshouse themed cafe, and has fake rain on top to make it look better. And when it actually rains? Absolutely amazing ambiance. The cafe is also pretty big, even though it doesn’t look like that from outside, there is also outside seating area. Now let’s talk about the service, I felt like it could be improved, the waiters weren’t cordial enough or didn’t pay enough attention. Had to stare at them for hours until they finally looked at us and noticed, so definitely would like the service to be improved. As for the food, Id say, for a cafe like this and the price, its absolutely amazing, and good portions as well. The price is also pretty reasonable, considering it’s a cafe, and I had a great time here. Would definitely recommend. Amazing place to come with family or on dates.
Took a leap of faith to try out new restaurants and this cute greenhouse caught my eye. Called them to ask for a reservation and got one right away, big thanks to Jason for this one . Both the food and service were great and their Beef Burger is a must! Don't forget to try their pastry and cakes too. More than anything, the place is just beautiful
My second time here. This time was after mom's physiotherapy session at PPUM just down the road. We had brunch as we believe rehabilitation is best paired with a good feed. We were lucky enough to get a table without prior reservation. Food highlights: • Mine: A croffle with grilled chicken which was crispy, buttery, and so on-point. • Sister’s choice: Chilli padi pesto pasta. She bravely requested "super spicy." Minutes later, she was dramatically negotiating with her water glass like a UN peace envoy. (To be fair, the waiter had warned her to go mild.) • Mom’s pick: Char koey teow that punched above its weight, generously loaded with cockles, prawns both large and small, duck eggs, chicken eggs, fish cake, and enough wok hei to make Penang jealous. Liquid assets: We somehow ended up with four coffees i.e flat white, latte, and two cappuccinos, as if we were auditioning for a caffeinated version of superheroes . Mom treated herself to a watermelon-lychee juice, which was fresh, sweet, and unreasonably pretty. Service & ambience: The staff were attentive to the point we felt like we were royalties. The ambience was pleasantly cool despite the sunny day outside. Credit to their intriguing ceiling feature: a transparent panel where water drips down, giving the psychological illusion of coolness. (Very effective trick). Actually it looks more like a glass house! Since portions were generous enough to feed a medium-sized village, we boxed up most of the leftovers for dinner. The only things that didn’t survive the table were the croissant and the coffee, which speaks for itself. Verdict: Modern décor, genuinely thriving café vibes, and proof that even on a university campus, you can get a meal that rivals the city’s trendiest spots. This place has levelled up since my pre-Covid visit and if they keep this up, I might need to schedule my own physiotherapy sessions just to justify coming here more often. Price wise pretty steep.
5 stars for the ambience, but the food was just average at best. For the Nasi Lemak Salmon Berempah, the salmon was kinda overcooked. Fried a little too long I think, just seconds away from being burnt. The Cili Padi Pesto Pasta was alright, nothing extraordinary. But the Crab & Cherry Tomato Pasta was the most legendary of all — for how below average it was despite being the priciest on our list. We expected a whole crab or at least some decent crab bits, but instead the crab was blended into the sauce until we could barely see it or even taste it. Honestly, if you closed your eyes, you wouldn’t even guess there was crab in there. We even double-checked with the waiter before ordering if the pasta came with a whole-crab or crab-chunks, but the foreign staff couldn’t really communicate well in English or Malay, so it didn’t help much. Overall, the experience felt underwhelming, which is a shame because the place itself is so aesthetic and the food presentation looked nice. Maybe we need to give it another shot someday and try different dishes next time.
