The menu presents a selection of familiar café fare, with a focus on fresh ingredients and simple preparation. It’s a great spot for a relaxed lunch or a casual meeting with friends, providing a laid-back feel.

JC

Lovely place to catch up with friends and family when the weather is not too humid as this place is an open-air concept. Simple meals are quite fresh and tasty. However there are similar cafes in Klang Valley that offers the same taste meals with lower price. In my view food is overhyped here.
Their brownie should reduce sugar, both the “cake” and the topping/drizzle are sweet. A bitter chocolate drizzle is better to balance the cake sweetness. Best to just reduce sugar in the “cake”.

tried the arriabata bacon pasta and the lamb meatballs sandwich. the pasta was excellent, full of flavour and a nice level of spice, very tasty! the presentation of the pasta was very impressive as well.

the sandwich though was a bit of a letdown. i loved how cheesy it was and it was cooked very well, but the portions of meatball was way too little. sloppy presentation too.

overall, i’d still recommend this restaurant and would love to go back and try the other items!

ANGELA SEOW

I really enjoyed the shakshouka here, it was well-seasoned and definitely the highlight of the meal. However, I felt the pizza could use some improvement. The crust was quite hard and had more of a biscuit-like texture, which made it less enjoyable. I suspect this might be due to the type of flour used, as it didn’t have the light and chewy texture I usually expect from a good pizza base.

We chose to sit outside, and while it was quite hot, it was still manageable and added to the casual atmosphere.

The service, on the other hand, was great. Staff were attentive and friendly.

The food has always been top notch, highly recommended for their breakfast, cakes, sourdough breads.

However their pumpkins soup was a letdown, it was too watery and the taste becomes bland.

The European atmosphere of the restaurant really caught our eye, which was why we went for a visit in the first place. Everything was perfect, from the food to the service. Would definitely recommend.

We ordered the sicilian style meatball pizza, orzo pasta with feta cheese and all day big breakfast, all were very good!

I had breakfast here this morning and it was a great start to the day. The food came out hot and fresh, and everything tasted like it was made with care. The scrambled eggs were soft and creamy, the bacon was crisp without being dry, and the toast had just the right amount of crunch. The coffee was strong and smooth, and they kept the refills coming without me needing to ask.

The service was warm and unhurried, which made the whole experience feel relaxed. The place had a calm atmosphere, with just enough background noise to feel lively but not overwhelming. Prices were fair for the quality and portions.

Amazing food! I got the stuffed omelette and it was amazing, comes with a croffle. The spaghetti was also amazing for my 1 year old, and then the rest of us finished it. We added grilled chicken as an extra.
10/10 was pleasantly surprised. Great music, great ambiance. Great food!

The food was pleasantly satisfying. The croffle stood out with its soft, chewy texture complemented by a slight crisp. While the ventilation could be improved, the dining environment remains reasonably comfortable. The availability of power points is also a practical feature for those who wish to work during their visit.

I had the Aioli Chicken Panini at this cozy café in KL, and it was absolutely fantastic! The bread was perfectly toasted, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the aioli added a creamy, garlicky kick that tied everything together beautifully. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing lunch or casual meeting. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better.

Highly recommend this place if you’re in KL and looking for great food and a chill vibe. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu!

If you are fussy about your coffee that’s not the best place to go but overall it’s okay, and if you are not fussy is probably very good. Service was good, quite quick and staff look happy working there so it gives a nice vibe to the place. The bagel was good but not enough cream cheese. Toast with butter and jam was nice but we were rushing for a tour and the butter was really hard and impossible to spread, other than that the bread was really nice, jam also good.

Visited in September 25 during a weekend brunch hour. The café wasn’t full yet, and I managed to get a seat upstairs. Tried their Turkish style Eggs and classic chicken Sandwich, which I found rather mediocre. The Turkish style Eggs came with sourdough toast, tomato chickpeas, Greek yogurt, pistachios, and sausage. However, the tomato paste was too sweet for my liking, which made the dish less enjoyable overall. That said, the sourdough toast was nicely pan-seared with olive oil and had a good texture. As for the Classic Chicken Sandwich, I personally found it bland. While the sourdough toast itself was nice, the filling didn’t stand out in terms of flavor. Coffee, however, was good.

The ambience is pleasant, with nice music playing in the background.

The coffee was OK-
Had an espresso yet couldn’t taste the aroma of it.
Staffs were very friendly though.

I had to give low on overall and atmosphere, because around 40mins I was there, no one bothered to even check nor clean up the mess the restroom was.

This was the first coffee shop we visited in KL, and we’ll definitely be coming back! The food was exceptional — we highly recommend the Big Breakfast and the Soft Shell Crab Burger. Every element on the plate felt thoughtfully crafted and full of flavor.

The baristas were incredibly kind and enthusiastic, especially when we asked about the coffee. Their hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable.

Thank you for such a pleasant and memorable visit!

Everyone gotta try their pancakes because it is amazing! One of the fluffiest and nicest pancakes I had, which didn’t feel too “floury” after eating too much of it. It was good!

Not much food variety given since it’s a cafe. But their coffee and cake/ pastry are good.

Used to be my usual hangout place when I worked nearby.

Car park can be very challenging and need to park quite a distance at the parking lot.

Environment is quite good for work/ chat with friends or alone.

My favorite coffee in Malaysia. The one I keep coming back to. This place has really become special to me. I like their V60

I love it any time of the day, but the night vibe is something else the lights, the calm, the whole atmosphere. It’s a place where I always feel relaxed.

One of the night staff is always super kind and warm (I don’t know his name), and that made the place even more special.

I have a few days left before going back home, and I already know this is the place I’ll miss the most. It became part of my routine and my memories here. Saying goodbye won’t be easy.

I came here to have brunch on Eid morning with my family. All in all we had a wonderful time, loved the vibe and aesthetic of the cafe. There is a lot of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The food was excellent; we had the French toast, Turkish eggs, and double smash burger. I wish I had asked for hot sauce on the side for the burger as the patty was unseasoned. But the fries were on point as was the sourdough that came with the eggs.

The only thing I didn’t love was the coffee. We ordered two lattes, a vanilla latte and a sticky bun latte. The vanilla latte had to be remade as the first one had way too much vanilla syrup (I was thankful that the second one came with the syrup on the side for me to pour in how much I wanted.) But the espresso in both lattes was over extracted, which was pretty disappointing as I was expecting some great coffee.

Decided to have our dinner here starting with the staff, they were very welcoming and served us really well. Even though we arrived after 9 pm, they politely informed us about the last order and explained it in detail, so we could decide quickly and make their work easier.

The space was just nice, but the vibe was even better the playlist really made our dinner feel more enjoyable!

As for the food, it was presented beautifully and looked absolutely delicious. Taste-wise, I’d give it an 8/10. We still enjoyed our dinner a lot, and it’s definitely a place with plenty of spots for you to chill, whether it’s day or night.

Came here through googling as I was bored in my room. Looking to chill in a coffe house. Looks good on the photos. Took a Grab and arrived in 15 mins from Le Meridien Hotel. We ordered Nasi Lemak Platter, Mushroom Soup and Pokok’s Fish and Chips. The food is good. I can say it could be better. Nasi Lemak’s sambal is stronger on the ginger taste but it is uniquely theirs. The fish and chips is almost generic taste but the fish is fried with crips crumbs and the dips sauce is tastier when you give it a bit of the lemon squeeze dropsThe ambience is to stay for. Order your coffee without ice and you will enjoy a chatting time or just chill absorbing the views. The coffe is not strong but the aroma is sweet and bitter. Iced, it will take away the coffee taste when it melted. Anyway, we stayed for more than an hour just to relax and chat. Barrista and the staffs are super friendly and nice. They even assist you to take some snaps of instagrammable photo for you. Thank you for the experience. Will visit again whenever i am around.

Pokok is an absolute gem! My experience was nothing short of fantastic, and it’s easy to see why this place earns a five-star rating. I ordered the steak and egg, well done, and it was cooked to perfection. The steak was incredibly flavorful, and the sauce that came with it complemented the meat beautifully.
A special shout-out has to go to the tomatoes served on the side. They tasted so fresh, as if they were just picked from a garden. It was a simple addition that really elevated the dish—truly a chef’s kiss moment!
But the food wasn’t the only star of the show. The all-you-can-scoop tiramisu cake was heavenly. It was rich and decadent but not overly sweet, making it the perfect dessert with that “tita vibes” taste. It was so good it was addicting!
The staff also deserves high praise. Kenneth and Jason were especially commendable. They were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had a great dining experience. Their excellent service truly made the meal even more enjoyable.
I can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu. If you’re looking for great food and amazing service, Pokok is the place to be.

In love with the aesthetics of this place, absolutely amazing, calming and relaxing. The glasshouse themed cafe, and has fake rain on top to make it look better. And when it actually rains? Absolutely amazing ambiance.

The cafe is also pretty big, even though it doesn’t look like that from outside, there is also outside seating area.

Now let’s talk about the service, I felt like it could be improved, the waiters weren’t cordial enough or didn’t pay enough attention. Had to stare at them for hours until they finally looked at us and noticed, so definitely would like the service to be improved.

As for the food, Id say, for a cafe like this and the price, its absolutely amazing, and good portions as well. The price is also pretty reasonable, considering it’s a cafe, and I had a great time here.

Would definitely recommend. Amazing place to come with family or on dates.

My second time here. This time was after mom’s physiotherapy session at PPUM just down the road. We had brunch as we believe rehabilitation is best paired with a good feed.
We were lucky enough to get a table without prior reservation.
Food highlights:
• Mine: A croffle with grilled chicken which was crispy, buttery, and so on-point.
• Sister’s choice: Chilli padi pesto pasta. She bravely requested “super spicy.” Minutes later, she was dramatically negotiating with her water glass like a UN peace envoy. (To be fair, the waiter had warned her to go mild.)
• Mom’s pick: Char koey teow that punched above its weight, generously loaded with cockles, prawns both large and small, duck eggs, chicken eggs, fish cake, and enough wok hei to make Penang jealous.

Liquid assets: We somehow ended up with four coffees i.e flat white, latte, and two cappuccinos, as if we were auditioning for a caffeinated version of superheroes . Mom treated herself to a watermelon-lychee juice, which was fresh, sweet, and unreasonably pretty.

Service & ambience: The staff were attentive to the point we felt like we were royalties. The ambience was pleasantly cool despite the sunny day outside. Credit to their intriguing ceiling feature: a transparent panel where water drips down, giving the psychological illusion of coolness. (Very effective trick). Actually it looks more like a glass house!

Since portions were generous enough to feed a medium-sized village, we boxed up most of the leftovers for dinner. The only things that didn’t survive the table were the croissant and the coffee, which speaks for itself.

Verdict: Modern décor, genuinely thriving café vibes, and proof that even on a university campus, you can get a meal that rivals the city’s trendiest spots. This place has levelled up since my pre-Covid visit and if they keep this up, I might need to schedule my own physiotherapy sessions just to justify coming here more often. Price wise pretty steep.

5 stars for the ambience, but the food was just average at best. For the Nasi Lemak Salmon Berempah, the salmon was kinda overcooked. Fried a little too long I think, just seconds away from being burnt. The Cili Padi Pesto Pasta was alright, nothing extraordinary. But the Crab & Cherry Tomato Pasta was the most legendary of all — for how below average it was despite being the priciest on our list. We expected a whole crab or at least some decent crab bits, but instead the crab was blended into the sauce until we could barely see it or even taste it. Honestly, if you closed your eyes, you wouldn’t even guess there was crab in there. We even double-checked with the waiter before ordering if the pasta came with a whole-crab or crab-chunks, but the foreign staff couldn’t really communicate well in English or Malay, so it didn’t help much.

Overall, the experience felt underwhelming, which is a shame because the place itself is so aesthetic and the food presentation looked nice. Maybe we need to give it another shot someday and try different dishes next time.

Great service as always! The team is attentive and makes you feel welcome from the moment you step in. I really enjoyed the new drinks on the menu — refreshing, creative, and a nice change from the usual. The filter coffee selection is good, with well-balanced flavors that coffee lovers will appreciate. Food here never disappoints — flavorful and consistently high quality. The overall atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, making it a perfect spot for both catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet coffee break. Always a reliable favorite!

The variety isnt that big for either of the food directory but food taste is rather commendable. Food preparation is quite fast too even when the place is crowded. Service is fast and attentive but the only down side to all on my personal opinion is the beverages. Coffee is a little too mild and again not much choices.

This restaurant has a very nice and unique design that immediately sets it apart. The space feels warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a slow, easy morning. The ambiance is cozy yet lively, ideal for enjoying a relaxed brunch with family or catching up with friends.

We almost always go for the Umami Mushroom Avocado Toast and the Common Man Full Breakfast, both of which never disappoint. The flavors are well-balanced, the ingredients taste fresh, and the portions are satisfying without being overwhelming. Their Mocha and Hot Chocolate are good too, not too sweet. We tried the Iced Americano. While it was decent, I personally would have preferred a stronger, darker roast.

What really stands out here is the service. Despite the café often being fully packed, the staff consistently remain friendly, attentive, and efficient. They manage to handle the busy crowd while still making you feel looked after, which is impressive.

Overall, this café offers both quality food and a lovely atmosphere. It has quickly become a place I would happily return to time and time again. Whether you’re looking for a weekend brunch spot or a cozy café to unwind in, this is a great choice. Highly recommended if you’re in the TTDI neighborhood.

Personally find their latte just okay, cause I don’t like sour coffee. As it was a shop that specialises in coffee, I expected to have better/fancier latte art but this is just a small gripe.Their food menu is definitely on the pricier side. The pancakes were very good! The “smash” burger on the other hand was not smashed and the patty was very dry but well seasoned.

The place had a warm, inviting ambiance- perfect for a slow, easy morning. We ordered their umami mushroom avocado toast and it was flavorful. Their chai soy latte and matcha latte was smooth and not overly sweet, just how I like it.

Staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I would come back to for a relaxed weekend brunch or to catch up with friends. Highly recommend!

Visited Common Man Coffee Roasters KL and had a pretty good experience overall!

We ordered the Common Man Full Breakfast, which came with two free-range eggs (any style), chicken sausage, grilled streaky beef, herbed roma tomato, hashbrown, portobello mushroom, spinach, house-made chicken chorizo baked beans, and artisanal sourdough toast.

Honestly, the breakfast was just average — most items lacked a bit of flavor, except for the hashbrown, which was really good.

On the other hand, the Smash Burger was AMAZING! The beef patties were crispy outside, juicy inside, and the combination of cheddar, onion jam, lettuce, and beetroot BBQ sauce was just perfect. It would have been even better if the fries were a little crunchier, but still very enjoyable.

We also had an Iced Americano, but it was just alright — it wil be better if it’s more intense and dark roast.

The environment is vibrant and lively, and the floor staff provided excellent, cheerful service. Definitely a great spot to chill and catch up with friends or date with your love one.

We came in a big group of around 10 adults with 2 kids and were seated at a long table in a cozy private corner. Although there was a 2-hour dining limit, they kindly allowed us to stay longer as more friends joined later.

The food tasted good with generous portions, and the staff were attentive throughout. The café stays busy from lunch through tea time, clearly a popular spot!

For the pasta, we tried the Salted Egg Squid Pasta and Cheesy Mr Mac. Honestly, it’s very very good. My salted egg pasta is pretty delicious. The savoury is just enough to not overwhelm you. Added to that with the crispy fried battered squid, and you got yourself a delightful meal!

The Cheesy Mr Mac is also pretty good. It’s not too creamy, which can be a tight rope to balance with these kinds of dishes. And the portions, oh my God. There were plenty, I almost didn’t manage to finish my food. My friend certainly didn’t finish hers.

For drinks we just ordered juices. It’s okay. I mean it’s pretty refreshing, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best I ever had or anything.

The only downside of the place is the acoustics aren’t very good. So the place is quite noisy. We have to sit beside each other instead of in front of us, since it’s quite loud. So don’t expect this place to be as intimate as other cafes.

And the place is quite full. So be expected to wait a little if it is full. I wouldn’t recommend bringing more than 4 people here.

But overall, this is a very good cafe. We might come here again sometime later. Recommended.

The rest of the food we order is ok, normal. no great woww moment. Then again, food taste is very subjective.

While my visit was spurred by the much-hyped tiramisu, which I found to be rather average, the rest of the meal was a standout experience. The pesto pasta was vibrant and fresh, showcasing a well-balanced sauce that clung perfectly to the noodles. The mini Mac n Cheese was a pleasant surprise—creamy, rich, and clearly a hit with the younger diners at our table. The Fish n Chips delivered on all fronts: crispy, golden batter encasing flaky, tender fish.
This establishment proves that while one dish may not live up to the fanfare, the overall quality and execution of the menu more than compensate. It’s a place worth returning to, and I look forward to exploring the rest of their offerings.

It’s been ages since I last visited this restaurant, back when they were still at Plaza Batai, but I’ve always meant to come back. Finally got the chance tonight, and it was so worth the wait! Of course, I had to order my absolute favorite pasta, the Pollo & Pesto. I also decided to try some of their new drinks and finished everything off with their tiramisu.

The pasta was just as I remembered – bursting with flavor, that perfect pesto sauce coating the grilled chicken without being overpowering. I was also really glad I tried their mixed berries lemonade, it was so refreshing and did a great job of cleansing my palate for dessert.

And as always, the highlight of the meal was the tiramisu. That classic combination of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese just melts in your mouth. It’s absolutely perfect! I will definitely be coming back here again much sooner this time. This place is, and always will be, one of my favorites!

Great, trendy breakfast spot! The menu has just the right amount of choice — enough variety without being overwhelming.

Shout-out to our cool waiter Neil — he was super friendly, warm, and smiley, with the kind of attentive, chatty service that makes a place memorable.

The food took a little longer than expected, but honestly, I didn’t mind at all because when it arrived you could taste the quality. Everything was fresh, well-made, and absolutely worth the wait. They even cater for kids, which was a big plus — my children loved their food.

For adults, the lamb salad is a must-try. Flavourful, fresh, and perfectly done.

A stylish spot with great food and even better service — definitely worth a visit.

I GOT SCAMMED

I AM JUST GIVING HONEST FEEDBACK FOR PEOPLE WHO NEED HONEST OPINION.

My first time here. found this place from Google because got so many good reviews. Turns out most of those reviews are FAKE in exchange for free cookie.

First thing I noticed was the chair is uncomfortable. They use steel round chairs really not nice to sit on. I only sat for 5 minutes and already felt uncomfortable. Maybe this is their trick so people don’t sit too long, who knows.

Second, the food taste is super bland. No strong flavour n just plain. Nothing special. The only good thing is how the food looks, but what’s the point if it doesn’t taste good? For the price, it’s not worth it. Too pricey for food that doesn’t taste nice.

The staff also got this “I AM FORCED TO WORK HERE” attitude. No smile n no friendly vibe. Just slammed the plate and drink on the table when she served us.

If you want a FREE cookie, go give them a fake good review. But if you’re coming here hoping for good food, don’t bother. Even the fries I couldn’t finish. I paid RM24 for fries that didn’t even make me want to eat. You can see my photo.

I tried the Soy Honey Glazed Krispy Chicken Brioche and Beef Brisket Aglio. Both taste very nice. The chicken is crispy and the sauce sweet and salty, very good with the soft bun. The brisket had the right amount of chew, pasta was good although I think it was more like bolognaise .
Overall good experience.

Had brunch here and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly and helpful if you’re unsure about what to order, they’re happy to recommend something. The menu has a good mix of options, including healthy choices, so I’d say it’s quite a diet-friendly cafe. The food is delicious and unique, though the prices are on the higher side. The service and atmosphere are excellent. The egg benedict is different from other places, and the English breakfast tastes great.

Makanan sedap dan unik, walaupun harganya agak tinggi. Perkhidmatan dan suasana sangat baik. Egg benedict di sini berbeza daripada tempat lain, dan sarapan Inggerisnya sangat sedap.

The restaurant is located beside the high street studio, the waitress is very helpful and friendly. I ordered their summer pasta (slightly oily and would suggest having more meat with the price). The restaurant is decorated with local cultured wall art and you can choose to sit indoors or outdoor.

We ended up paying RM100++ for two brunch dishes, which feels really overpriced for locals. The café is called “LOKL,” but honestly it doesn’t feel very lokl at all. A breakfast platter alone was RM40, and the taste was pretty average—nothing special. (tbh it was super plain—felt like something I could’ve made at home)

For tourists though, RM40 is just about USD10, so maybe it feels cheaper and more worth it from their side. The place seems to be more geared towards visitors anyway, with the vibe and menu.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it for locals, but if you’re a tourist who enjoys that kind of café scene, it might be plus great service from the waiters.

Officially announcing that I’ll be coming back to LOKL Coffee another time.

To start off, I was greeted by Arthevi (apologies if I got your name or the spelling wrong but pls know that you are a sweetheart) at the entrance. I realised I had forgotten to bring my card with me, explaining the current situation at hand and I asked if QR payment is accepted. Arthevi happily explained that any payment is accepted as she ushered me inside to a table.

Okay now I’m inside, the cafe is bustling with patrons chitchatting and the sounds of cutleries scrapping their plates. Love a good ambience!

I had the lunch set which comes with a side and a main (you can actually have 2 sides but I opted for one). And ofc I gotta get myself an iced latte to go with my meal. Lemme tell you what, the honey glazed chicken was tender, succulent, and it literally melts in my mouth. The chicken was served on a nice hot bed of mash potato and it was creamy and well seasoned. Just how I like it 🙂

I took chicken soup as the side and it was alright. Just the right starter before you dive in into the main. Definitely will recommend the iced latte if you need a quick pick me up in the mornings. I know I would.

Arthevi was attentive and keep on checking if everything was alright with me. If the food was okay, if I need my sauces and ketchups etc etc etc. She was just wonderful all around. Definitely elevates my first time dining experience here at LOKL.

If you’re ever in the Masjid Jamek area, pls come visit for some good food and amazing service!

I ordered the Chicken Chop with salted egg sauce. When the food came, the waiter mentioned salted egg. I said what salted egg? He keep on repeating salted egg, salted egg. I didn’t order salted egg. Whenever delivering food to customer, please train your staff to mention the food and drink they ordered. Don’t just deliver and put them on the table. They should know what they are delivering. You have so many items on your menu and your staff don’t even know all of them. We keep on asking for a refill for the water instead of letting us have the jug/ bottle.

A truly enchanting find. The unique ambiance of this cafe, with its open-air courtyard and striking architectural details, creates a wonderfully serene escape. Such a relaxing place, very nice ambiance. I suddenly felt like a backpacker again. I mean that in the nicest possible way. Food was really good, coffee was excellent. If you feel the need to relax a little then you can’t go wrong. Everything in the menus looks mouth watering. If I lived here I would come here often just to soak in the atmosphere.

The menu is very unique and has so many options to choose from for drinks and bakery items! the restaurant has a good ambience and interior decor. Unfortunately they didn’t have all the items on the special offer menu and then we had to remind to bring the food after waiting a long time. However, these things happen, would definitely visit again and hope to try other items.

It was my first time experiencing this restaurant last week. Absolutely loved the food! The soft shell crab was scrumptious I enjoyed every bite of it. I also loved the drink which was Passionfruit Mojito, I loved that they put a frozen ice pop with a lemon inside the ice pop, lovely touch! I will definitely come again to experience more of their delicacies. Truly and authentically Malaysian!

1. The food i ordered was signature chicken chop and the sauce was too little, and the chicken is too dried, soggy with too much oil. The coffee was just so-so.
2. The atmosphere was very cozy to do some work.
3. It’s so hard to find the cafe, as a first timer. I had to call your team and and do some research thru the review, hoping some posing at the front of the shop. luckily, they did.

I hope you guys improved your food because for me this isn’t worth it.
