As a traveler, it’s always great to find a gym that is both welcoming and offers solid jiu-jitsu sparring. Daisho Jiu-Jitsu exceeded my expectations—everyone was friendly, respectful, and I felt right at home on the mats. Fitri, one of the black belts, personally invited me back to train, which speaks to the gym’s welcoming atmosphere. The training partners were skilled yet approachable, making for a great overall experience. The gym is also conveniently located near a mall and several shops, so grabbing a meal before or after training is easy. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner, I highly recommend stopping by Daisho Jiu-Jitsu if you’re in the area.

It was impressive how everyone was so inviting and welcoming. Special thanks to @farisfaishal99 for the invite and ensuring a great first experience @aosjiujitsu! If you’re in Kuala Lumpur and looking for a gym to train Gi or No Gi while you’re in town, it’s HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you stop by Art of Submission (@aosjiujitsu)! Regardless of your skill level or intensity level you desire during training sessions, there is a class and training partners for you at Art of Submission. And you'll probably make friends during your first visit to AOS that will help you build you community in KL!
Art of Submission is an amazing place to train, and I’m so glad I got the chance to experience it, even for a short time while passing through. The coaching is top-notch—every session is well-structured, and the instructors are not only knowledgeable but also really approachable and supportive. They take the time to help everyone improve, no matter their skill level. The atmosphere is what really stands out, though. The staff and fellow students are so welcoming and friendly, which makes it such a positive environment to be in. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable right away, even if you’re new or just visiting. On top of that, the gym is super clean and well-organized, which shows how much they care about the space and the people training there. Whether you’re just passing through, like I was, or looking for a regular place to train, Art of Submission is a place where you’ll feel supported and motivated to grow. It’s a great community and an excellent space to train!
Good vibes, kind people, precise technique, clean mat, and nice music from 70's& 80's. (You should add The Doors on the playlist:) I was really enjoy the Nogi class there. 押忍!
Dropped by AOS to train for two days in June and I really enjoyed the experience! Everyone was really warm and friendly. The coach, Prof Fitri was super welcoming and knowledgeable too. The gym was really spacious and clean. The mats were really soft as well. The only downside I would say is that only small towels were provided to dry the feet. So bring your own towels!
Classes are really comprehensive, the coaches go in-depth about the concepts so it's easier to apply when rolling than just memorising step-by-step. For someone who is new like me, the coaches are really patient and makes sure you get all the fundamentals down. Friendly community, substantial amount of girls every class to roll with & great 90s tunes too!
I passed through KL last night and decided to train with at AOS on a recommendation from another gym in SE Asia. They were so nice! They let me know they had gis to borrow and it was easy to show up for a lesson. This was my first time at a gym away from home and I was welcomed warmly immediately by a lot of the players. After the great lesson, the rolling was great. It's a good family of players there and they were really good and fun to roll with. If I lived in KL this would be my home gym for sure. I could tell everyone there was really, really into BJJ and making each other better. It would be a great gym for a beginner looking to get good fast, as even the white belts obviously were learning fast there and having a lot of fun doing it. A+
