Where do I start? Initially, I went to Cheras BYD to have a look at the BYD Seal. Because as I see more and more of it on the road, it just looks so elegant and posh. The aesthetics of its design alone caught my attention. When I visited the showroom, I was approached by Shahrul. Very calmly, he asked: "Sir, which car would you like to see? Or have you not decided and are here to view all the models?" I told him that I was there to view the Seal. He then showed me the 2024 Seal at that time. He explained everything very calmly and professionally, not like other sales agents who can be overly aggressive (no offense to others). I myself am from the Sales department, so I know how I would like to be approached, and Shahrul did it perfectly. As my partner and I were viewing the car while he explained the features, he then offered me a test drive, which I inevitably agreed to. We waited about 5–10 minutes, and then he informed me that the test drive car was outside and ready. We went for a drive around the showroom area, and my oh my, how astonished I was by the feel of the car. The quality exceeded my expectations and cleared all doubts I had about it. Shahrul, seated beside me, explained everything I needed to know about the indicators and other functions. When we came back to the showroom, he explained the financing options and the availability of the car. Unfortunately, at that time I wanted the 2024 model in Black, but most branches, including his, had no stock since they were already preparing for the arrival of the 2025 model. Of course, at that time I didn’t know this. So I told him I would need some time to think about it and that I would get back to him. Weeks passed, and about two days before the launch of the 2025 Seal, a show unit arrived at his branch. He immediately sent me a WhatsApp message with photos of the car. I was so excited because it was the latest 2025 Seal Black in colour, with a sunshade. The sunshade was one of my "first world problems" I had mentioned to him earlier, wishing it had been available in the 2024 model. I waited for BYD to officially launch the car, and without wasting any time, I immediately sent him my documentation and booking fee. He then proceeded to liaise with the banks, as I had asked him to secure the best interest rate and the best price possible. Within hours, bankers started calling me with loan offers. Processing took a bit longer due to some issues with my documentation, but Shahrul guided me every step of the way, he was always by my side. Even when it came to booking my own number plate through the JPJ app, which I failed at bidding, he still offered to help me find the closest available number. After days of us searching exhaustively for the number, I decided to just go with a running number for the time being. He then arranged everything else, ie: Puspakom inspection, JPJ registration, tinting, and coating. By the way, he even helped me get a great rebate package for the overall car price and for the Tint & Coating Combo. Truly, he is a man of his word. As the car was being prepared, I rushed him a little since I needed it by a certain date. He did his absolute best and fulfilled my request. At the delivery, he greeted me with such a jovial smile, as if to say, "We came a long way, and now we’re finally here together." I loved every step of the process of getting this car. No major hiccups, no misunderstandings. He is so experienced and knowledgeable in what he does. By the time I collected my car from the delivery bay, it truly hit me: Shahrul is not just an ordinary sales agent. He was everything he needed to be in order for me to complete this purchase. For me, this is what I think of Shahrul throughout the whole process: He was not making a sale. He was making a customer. With that, BYD—please cherish people like Shahrul and give him the recognition he deserves, because his work is purely professional and very ethical. To say that "I had the best experience purchasing a car" would be an understatement. Thank you, Shahrul, and thank you, BYD!
