I reserved a table at Marini’s on 57 to celebrate my husband’s and my 3rd wedding anniversary, and it was such a memorable experience. We were recommended this place by a family member, and it truly is a hidden gem in KL.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless—security is top-notch and the service is outstanding. The staff are not only professional and attentive but also incredibly pleasant, often stopping by for a friendly chat which added a warm touch to the evening.
The food and drinks were amazing—absolutely worth the slightly higher price range. The atmosphere is lively even during the week, with great music that complements the setting. One of the biggest highlights is the breathtaking view of the Twin Towers from the bar terrace—an experience in itself!
We will definitely be returning, next time with friends and family, to share this wonderful spot. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special night out in KL.

I had the pleasure of visiting Martini’s on 57, and I can confidently say this place is a hidden gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a stylish, yet cozy atmosphere. The vibe is upbeat but not overwhelming—perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic evening.
The highlight for me, though, is the view. Located on the 57th floor, the panoramic city skyline is absolutely breathtaking, especially as the sun sets and the city lights begin to twinkle. It’s the perfect backdrop for a cocktail!
Speaking of cocktails, Martini’s truly lives up to its name. They have an extensive martini menu, each one crafted with care and precision. The bartenders are not only friendly but also highly skilled, offering recommendations tailored to your taste preferences. One of the best views in the city. Highly recommend!

Nice place to get drinks and enjoy the sunset. Nice view looking at the towers. Not sure how this compares with views at the twin towers but drinks here for two seems like a better deal than going up to the towers which is now 100 per person.

Food was amazing and surprisinglt filling. A truly cool fine dining experience. The staff explained each dish and wine. There was live music too and truly enjoyed the night view of the KLCC towers from our table. Highly recommend their oysters. Super meaty and juicy.

I’ve heard of Vin’s since like 15 years ago, but it was my 1st time here with my girlfriends and I’m glad they liked it, too. If you’re a vegetarian, don’t worry, plenty of options. I love the ambience here. We went on a Sunday late evening, it was quiet and a healthy space for loud chit chat. Yes, we were so loud, but we were having so much fun while enjoying the drinks and food and I must say, although we were the centre of attention, the staff were all very nice and friendly. The food was heavenly, we enjoyed every single bit of everything we had. From the nachos to the pizza … A week later, I took my family. It was a golden opportunity and I couldn’t miss it. We went on the BBQ day so it was pretty crowded for a Sunday noon. They made patties for burgers, had hotdogs and lasagna at a stand outside. Apparently it’s a once a month thingy. I came particularly for the pizza so that my son could enjoy it, but their machine was faulty. Because we came twice and the same things happened, they offered him a vanilla cake, so sweet of them and that thing was incredibly tasty. He loved it. Anyway, he ordered the burger as a meal, one huge burger and truly savoured it. The hot dog was not really up to expectations, but everything else from the meatball to the prawn something-something was to die for. We ordered bites and we enjoyed every moment. I even met the owner. Such a lovely lady. Pricey yes, but worth it! ❤️

1) Overall – Italian restaurant, spacious and comfortable air cond and open air seating, limited parking capacity, offers varieties of food and drinks such as mushroom soup, crab cake, smoked duck pizza, lamb ragout, whisky sour, duck bacon, walnut pasto, lamb pizza and many more from Vin’s Restaurant
2) baby mushroom with pine nut honey lemon – not bad as a starter, loved the combination of soft and crunchy texture, tasted good, highly recommended
3) basil-flamed sea prawns – not bad, fresh prawn, however would be better to replace the bread to a smaller pieces
4) salmon & sweet basil mascarpone – do consume while it is still warm to avoid cheese getting sticking together
5) mushroom pizza – nah
6) salted caramel vanilla mascarpone – very sticky popcorn however the chilly mascarpone cheese was not bad

I rarely find food that suits my very picky taste and i am so so glad to have been able to try Heritage Pizza KL! My friend has been recommending this to me but they are always fully booked! Finally, managed to book tonight’s dinner and boy, i am ecstatic! Food is really good, wish i could take them back home! Service is outstanding! Oga and the entire team are all so friendly and very accommodating even of my impossible requests! Will definitely keep coming back here! Thanks so much!

We’d been craving a prosciutto pizza, so we decided to check this place out. It was absolutely packed, and the only seats left were at the counter — but with just the two of us, that was no problem at all. Given how busy it was, we braced ourselves for a long wait, but our pizza came out surprisingly quickly, which was such a pleasant surprise. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive — definitely a plus.
The pizza itself went above and beyond our expectations in both flavor and quality. Now we completely understand why it’s often called the go-to pizza spot in Kuala Lumpur. We were full after sharing just one, so we couldn’t try the five-cheese pizza we’d been eyeing. Next time, we’ll bring a bigger group so we can order a few different ones and share.

I just couldn’t get that amazing prosciutto pizza out of my head, and since I missed the quirky Cinque Formaggi last time, I had to come back! This time I booked ahead—nailed it

Amazing place to have pizza! The staff is so kindddddd and super friendly, top service from Oga! Loved the pizza and the atmosphere, lots of tourist/ European expats dine here, so that says a lot about the place, so far in my experience nothing says like Heritage Pizza, will definitely come back again. Feels o welcomed here, even the owner came by our table to serve the food personally to us. Graziiiiiii

The pizza here is absolutely delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and a dough that is light, chewy, and very well made. The ambience is pleasant and welcoming, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere.
A special mention to William (I hope I remembered his name correctly) who assisted us from the very beginning. He provided a great introduction, made excellent recommendations and was attentive and helpful throughout.
Overall, a wonderful meal and excellent service. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful evening at Michelangelo’s Ristorante. The gorgonzola gnocchi was rich and creamy, with soft gnocchi that soaked up the cheese sauce perfectly. The seared tuna and spinach ravioli were fresh and flavourful. A crisp glass of prosecco tied the whole meal together beautifully.
The atmosphere was just as memorable as the food. The dining room felt both artistic and elegant, almost like enjoying dinner inside a Renaissance painting. The warm lighting and attentive service made the experience feel special from start to finish.
Thanks for the wonderful dinner

Without a doubt, the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Kuala Lumpur. The food is simply delicious, with every dish prepared with impressive detail and flavor. The service is impeccable: attentive, fast, and always with a smile.
I especially want to highlight the service provided by Sundani, who was exquisite at all times, with kindness and professionalism that made the experience even more special.
And I can’t forget to mention the cocktails: absolutely perfect, prepared with a unique touch that made them unforgettable.

Basil Pasta House appears to be a long-standing establishment offering a range of Italian-inspired dishes. From what I understand, the restaurant built a reputation for its generously portioned pasta and consistently well-cooked noodles. The smoked duck and pork belly salad and mini pizzas seem to be particularly noteworthy items on the menu.
However, reports suggest a decline in the overall quality and service. It’s understood that the ingredient sourcing has shifted, impacting the taste and freshness of the food, and the customer service experience isn’t what it once was. While the foundations for a successful restaurant remain, some revitalization may be required to restore the former high standards.

The chocolate milkshake was really good and definitely a highlight for us. The pasta, however, was just average and didn’t quite suit our taste, though the vongole was not bad. The place was quite popular with many diners, so it might be worth a visit to see if it suits your palate. We probably wouldn’t make a special trip back, but it’s still worth a try based on the overall good reviews.

We moved out of Happy Garden for quite some years but in our time living there, we often go to Basil Pasta House. BPH was so good that, it was our default place for good pasta and Italian cuisine in general. I remember having my first gnocchi here and they were fluffy indeed.
Today my mother and I were visiting family nearby and thought we’d eat BPH again. To our surprise, the once packed cafe was empty. We thought maybe we’re here too early and ordered our meal. Many things were different now but still familiar.
It wasn’t until the food arrived that I realised why it was empty. Your pastas look amazing and that’s about the only compliment I can give now. We’re so disappointed because the flavour has changed so much, you can tell many corners were cut. It wasn’t freshly cooked, I know it’s reheated and that’s fine but not at these prices. I know it’s reheated because there were no steam until you dig into the pasta and lift it up, a pocket of steam just rushes out. I ordered the spaghetti meatball and the meat portion is only the casing as the inside were filled with onions.
There’s no more house water and no straws either. When your pasta cost an average of RM35, house water is usually provided. The servers didn’t care for us either and two Pasta and a bottle of mineral water was RM98. Definitely not worth it.
Basil Pasta House now is an empty hollow shell of what it once was. I really miss the taste of your amazing food, the friendliness of your staffs and the passion that ran the business when I was still living around there. I suspect the business is sold to someone who no longer cared for their customer as the previous owner as I also noticed many of the staffs were no longer local anymore. It’s really sad as this used to be my favourite pasta spot.
I do hope previous owner can help the current owner to regain Basil Pasta House’s old glory days.

Sorry basil pasta house, I really wanted to give better ratings.. knowing that you’re prettt famous, but your food really ain’t up to par.
Was there a change of chef??
Food:
Risotto was really, not good.. it was well presented I mean, but the texture, like normal rice cooked longer but not really near what we call a risotto.
And the added peas and carrot in it just makes the whole taste worse. It became a fail fusion.
Quite disappointed because it actually looked good, but didn’t taste good 🙁
I’m a risotto lover and this didn’t cut it.
Smoke duck spaghetti was just meh.
The classic tiramisu, was not classic at all. Instead of being soft and melting in the mouth, it was pretty hard.
Service:
Was great. Lots of attentive staffs. Kudos.
Atmosphere:
Tables are squeeze tight to each other. I guess okay for normal days, a no-no for date nights.

Now I remember why I never went back. 1. 1. The tables are…sticky. You draw your own conclusions 2. When you charge a high end price for pasta, you better deliver. The chicken died for nothing. 3. Way to make customers feel welcomed before even ordering. Telling them you are closing up at 10 and start giving out bills & cleaning when some are still eating

Second visit here, but the food quality seems to have dropped. The complimentary starter tasted great — it’s still my favourite. The pizza crust was good, and both the lamb pasta and ravioli were tasty. The bone marrow is worth a try, especially for its sauce.
However, the risotto I ordered for my kids turned out to be spicy, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu, and the staff also didn’t inform us. The spring chicken remains the best dish among all. Dessert was average.
Overall, the food was decent but nothing exceptional. The bill came to about RM800, and for that price, I think you could find something better elsewhere.

Had such a wonderful experience at Natalina! From the moment I stepped in, the warm and cozy atmosphere made me feel like I was dining in Italy itself.
The food was absolutely amazing – fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and beautifully presented. My favorites were Ribeye (which is perfectly well cooked in the term of what I want medium rare just a perfect spot) and truffle mushroom pizza.
Service was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The staff took the time to explain the menu and made great recommendations.
Overall, Natalina is a gem – perfect for a date night, family dinner, or even just a good meal with friends. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Italian food in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Tutto eccellente, antipasti, primi, pizze, carne, dolci. Veramente tutto ottimo.

This is a beautifully decorated restaurant and one of the most cosy and inviting in KL in my opinion. Service is warm and welcoming from a well trained crew.
This was my first time here and I was looking forward to trying a few Italian staples. First to arrive was the Prosciutto with melon. Not the finest prosciutto in my opinion but pretty decent and it paired well with the melon, rocket and balsamic vinegar dressing.
The Seafood Soup was next, and this was a winner. A thick and flavourful soup that had taken all the sweetness of the fresh seafood. Best mopped up with the crusty bread served on the side. This is Highly Recommended.
Pizza Diavola has a thin crust and the pepperoni slices were generous, but I felt it could have had a more flavourful cheese and extra spiciness to justify the name.
Rigatoni Ala Norcin was another winner, and although described as lamb with button mushrooms, it was redolent with the aroma of truffles and mushrooms.
Save space for desserts as the choices here are worth the premium prices. Between the Tiramisu and the Crostata Pistachio, I preferred the latter for the buttery crust and rich pistachio chocolate pie filling. That’s not to say that the Tiramisu wasn’t good – it came in a large piece, enough to share between 3 persons and was creamy with a tinge of alcohol added.
The Pinot Grigio was crisp and a great foil for the great Italian cuisine.
Overall, a great experience and I will certainly be back to try more.

Our pasta was definitely unique to its own. I love mine!

Excellent food taste and services. Starting with the bread – fluffy and flavourful. The sald – its not egg on too. Next is the eggplant – something different to try. Lastly the wagyu, tender and soft and potatoes seasoned well both. Top up with long black.

It’s definitely our favorite Italian restaurant in KL! The food is always amazing, the atmosphere is great, and we love coming here for both special occasions and casual dinners. Whenever we have guests from abroad, this place is always a must-visit.
They have a real Italian chef who’s super friendly, attentive to every customer, and always happy to recommend the perfect dish based on your preferences. Highly recommend checking it out! It’s usually a full house on weekends, so it’s better to make a reservation.

Customer Reviews
This restaurant with its rustic charm feels slightly crammed.
We had CHARCUTERIE & cheese board for 2. The generous selection of ham, salami, pancetta & cheeses served with bread & marinated olives and dips was a good start. If you are not a fan of cured meat (which can be too salty for some) or blue cheese, you can build your own board. Request staff to go easy on salami, pancetta or prosciutto and choose roast pork slices or mild mortadella instead. We requested for the ‘blue cheese’ be replaced by Brie which the staff kindly did.
Next, we had the BIKINI CATALANA which essentially is ham with melted cheese & pickles on toast. It was wonderfully done and so yummy.
By the time our special pizza arrived, we could only have a slice each as the richness was getting much too much-we ‘dabau’ the rest. After a rich & delicious meal, we opted for Americano-something hot and not too heavy.
If you like authentic Italian & deli-styled meat, cheeses, and pastas, you may like to visit this joint and experience for yourself. Parking is a nightmare though …..

Came here in the middle of the week for dinner with my friend. It was her birthday. Chose to sit inside. The room was cozy, except our table too close to washroom and it’s a distraction when people keep walking by.
The food was good, my friend really enjoyed it. We actually ordered the cheese board but they delivered charcuterie with meat, it’s okay, we enjoyed it.
Service was good, they do check on us if we like the food etc. contrary to some reviews that mentioning they’re rude.
We definitely plans to come again with more friends.

The food here was delicious and definitely enjoyable.
Service was okay, not particularly outstanding but sufficient for a comfortable meal.
The environment, however, felt a bit cramped with narrow spacing, which made it less relaxing compared to more spacious dining places.

Food was okay, I had higher expectations for the Her Carbonara but it was a bit underwhelming. The August Special Fritto Misto was good though.
I was seated inside and the ambiance would’ve been nice if the staff were not shouting at each other/fighting in front of guests.

Such an amazing restaurant. 5 stars on all fronts, great food, great ambiance, great staff and excellent service. We ate here twice during our holiday and both times were sublime. The last time was on our second to last day and we even took some pasta for take-away before we were headed to the airport. Additionally, my girlfriend has a gluten allergy and they offer some amazing gluten-free options! Continue what you’re doing!

Buonissimo

We decided to try this restaurant after reading many positive reviews. The place is charming, nicely decorated, and very lively, with a warm atmosphere that feels a bit like being in Italy.
We started with bruschette, which were really tasty and well-prepared. The mains, however, were less convincing. Linguine al pesto and the rigatoni con salsiccia e radicchio: both dishes were generous, but the flavors felt a bit unbalanced and not quite like the traditional versions we’re used to in Italy.
The bill was around €50 for two, including one beer and one water, which is reasonable for the area.
Overall, a pleasant spot with a nice atmosphere, though the dishes didn’t meet my expectations.

Made a last minute booking for dinner at 8.30pm on a Saturday for a group of 7. Arrived on time but sadly the table and wasn’t ready as the previous diners have yet to leave. Perhaps the management can inform customers of the dinner seating policy?
Temporarily seated at a table outside then moved to the upstairs back room with a great view of KL tower.
Food was good, photos below. Everything was pretty tasty, (with the seating delay we were also quite famished)
Service was also good. Servers were attentive and with the table seating issue cleared up it was smooth sailing.
Price wise yes definitely on the higher end and likely a place for a special occasion. Will be back.

Came here for a quiet celebration night and this place fit perfectly at upstairs. With a touch of colony style building design that serves Italian food pairing with red wines, house cocktail completes the night ❤️
Pizza and pasta tasted descent, not very impressive but there’s authenticity of origin in those dishes. With starters bread and mushroom soup is just great.
Service is good despite low crowd day and seated at 2nd floor, it is really perfect date night. For a quiet celebration, please head upstairs.

A hidden gem, this place dishes up good Italian food in a cosy environment and with good service by a well trained team. Their Lunch Sets are great value (although prices keep increasing) and you can get a 2 course or 3 course option. The Lunch Sets are changed every month so do check for the latest menu. Pastas on the menu are generally good.

The food was great, especially the risotto which stood out as the highlight of the meal, rich in flavor, creamy, and perfectly cooked.
Beyond the food, the environment itself was truly the star of this restaurant. The setting is elegant and classic, creating a refined yet comfortable atmosphere that makes dining here feel special. Combined with the excellent service from the attentive staff, it all came together to create a very memorable dining experience. Definitely a place worth visiting for both the food and the ambience.

We tried for the first time after seeing it on Tiktok! Our server, Mustafa, gave us excellent service 🙂
Their antipasto (included) opened up my appetite. The butter was amazing. We tried their pastas, calzone and tiramisu.
Their pastas and tiramisu were great, but I would skip the calzone, it’s okay-okay only. Would come back again to try others and for that butter.
We recommend to reserve if you can. We went at 5:30 on a Friday and only outdoor seating was available. Thankfully it only started raining right as we left.

Summary: Acceptable quality food at terrible pricing. Mediocre atmosphere and sad service saved only by an attentive manager.
Pros:
– Food tasted okay, hot and served on time.
– the Manager was attentive to our displeasure and offered complimentary dessert.
Cons:
– As soon as we sat down we noticed the poor air conditioning. As someone who easily overheats it was very uncomfortable for most of the meal. The only solution they had was turning on the air curtain which only blows warm dry air.
– Drinks menu was not offered to us. We had to ask for this when it was a hot day and we were clearly sweating and struggling with the heats
– Absurdly overpriced for what you are served. You can get better deals at 1 Michelin Star DC restaurant. For example 500ml of still Aqua Panna water was RM18 with no option for 1L bottles. You are charged RM26 for a 1L bottle at DC with much better service and free lemon slices.
– Poor quality service from our waiter. Not attentive to the whole table. Soft spoken and could not hold a smile. This would be ignored at the local coffee shop but this is an upscale restaurant charging almost RM100 for a bowl of pasta.

We recently celebrated me and my mom’s birthday at Nero Nero KL, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience – all thanks to the incredible service from Mustaffa. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel truly special, with warm hospitality and thoughtful touches that went above and beyond.
Not only was the atmosphere perfect and the food outstanding, but Mustaffa surprised us with not one, but two complimentary desserts – a beautifully moist carrot cake and a rich, decadent tiramisu. It was the sweetest gesture and made the celebration even more memorable.
If you’re planning a special occasion, I can’t recommend Nero Nero enough – and be sure to ask for Mustaffa. His impeccable service and kind attention to detail made our night one to remember. Thank you, Mustaffa, for making our birthday celebration so magical!

The pizza was good. However the calamari ink pasta was a bit salty. They offered to serve a new plate but we were just too full and had to take away both the appetiser and pizza. I must say that the complementary carrot cake is very moist and firm which is hard to find in klang valley.
Although there was disappointment on the pasta but overall it’s still a romantic place for dating and celebration.
Also, it would be good if the server can be slightly more friendly and cheerful.

A hallmark of many authentic Italian establishments is the use of wood-fired ovens for pizza making. These ovens impart a unique smoky flavor and crispy crust that is a characteristic of Neapolitan-style pizza.
Regional Italian Cuisine
Beyond the standard offerings, some restaurants showcase regional Italian cuisine. This means highlighting specialties from specific regions of Italy, such as Sicilian seafood, Tuscan steaks, or Roman-style pasta.

Frequently Asked Questions about Italian Restaurants in Kuala Lumpur
What defines authentic Italian cuisine?
Defining authentic Italian cuisine can be tricky as regional variations are vast. Generally, it emphasizes fresh, seasonal ingredients, simple preparations that highlight the quality of the food, and traditional recipes passed down through generations. You’re looking for dishes that prioritize flavor profiles rooted in Italian history, rather than heavily modified versions. Real Italian food isn’t about excessive sauces or overly complex combinations; it’s about letting the quality of the ingredients shine through.
How do I find an Italian restaurant that uses quality ingredients?
Look for signs that indicate a commitment to quality ingredients. Does the restaurant mention where they source their ingredients? Do they use imported Italian products like San Marzano tomatoes or DOP cheeses? Check online reviews – do customers consistently praise the freshness and taste of the food? Menus that highlight seasonal dishes are also a good sign, as they indicate a focus on fresh produce. Many restaurants will proudly state when they have homemade pasta or use traditional methods.
What's the difference between Northern and Southern Italian cuisine?
There’s a significant difference! Northern Italian cuisine often uses more butter, cream, and rice, reflecting the region’s agricultural products. Dishes like risotto and polenta are common. Southern Italian cuisine, on the other hand, heavily features olive oil, tomatoes, and seafood. You’re more likely to find dishes like pasta with marinara sauce or fried calamari. Understanding these differences can help you choose a restaurant that offers the specific regional flavors you're seeking.
Are gluten-free options readily available at Italian restaurants in Kuala Lumpur?
While not universally available, gluten-free options are becoming more common in Kuala Lumpur. Many Italian restaurants now offer gluten-free pasta and pizza crusts, but it’s always best to confirm with the restaurant directly before visiting. Check the menu or call ahead to ensure they can accommodate your dietary needs, and ask about potential cross-contamination risks.
What is the difference between a pizzeria and a trattoria?
A pizzeria specializes in pizza – it's their primary focus. They may offer a limited selection of other dishes, but pizza is the star. A trattoria, however, is a more traditional and casual restaurant offering a wider range of Italian dishes, from pasta and meat courses to appetizers and desserts. Trattorias often have a family-run atmosphere and a more comprehensive menu compared to a pizzeria.
How much should I expect to spend at an Italian restaurant?
The cost can vary greatly depending on the type of restaurant and its location. A casual pizzeria might cost around RM30-RM50 per person, while a more upscale trattoria or ristorante could range from RM80-RM150 or more. Prices often reflect the quality of the ingredients, the atmosphere, and the level of service. Lunch specials are often more affordable than dinner.
What is DOP and IGP, and why do they matter?
DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) and IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) are protected geographical indications in Italy. They guarantee that a product is made according to traditional methods and comes from a specific region. Foods with DOP or IGP certification are considered to be of higher quality and authenticity. Seeing these labels on a menu indicates a commitment to authentic Italian products.
Are reservations recommended?
Yes, reservations are generally recommended, especially for popular restaurants or during peak dining hours (Friday and Saturday evenings). Many restaurants, especially the smaller, more traditional ones, have limited seating and fill up quickly. Making a reservation guarantees you a table and avoids potential disappointment.
What are some popular Italian desserts I might find?
You’re likely to encounter classics like tiramisu, a coffee-flavored dessert; panna cotta, a creamy custard; cannoli, crispy pastry tubes filled with ricotta cheese; and gelato, Italian ice cream. Many restaurants also offer a selection of seasonal fruit tarts and other homemade desserts.
How can I tell if a restaurant is truly serving Roman-style pizza?
Roman-style pizza is characterized by its thin, crispy crust and simple toppings. It’s often baked in a wood-fired oven. The crust should be light and airy, not thick or doughy. Roman pizza typically has a higher hydration level, resulting in a more open crumb structure. Look for a slightly charred crust and minimal sauce – the emphasis is on the quality of the dough itself.
