Taste and Flavour – Taste, texture and aroma of the food is the biggest deal breaker of this restaurant. All the ingredients compliment each other. A bite of each of every dish gives a flavor of blast in the mouth.

Place – right at the center. A perfect to enjoy the Arabic food with your friends and family. Restaurant is always crowded and its shows the popularity of the restaurant

Team.- they serve the food with the smile

Portion- sufficient portion to satisfy your appetite. Due to taste, you always end up by eating more.

Visited this branch for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the vibe. The staff were warm and welcoming, the food was flavorful, and there’s plenty of seating—even though it does get a bit crowded during peak hours. The Adani tea and hummus really stood out for me—definitely worth coming back for!

Oustanding taste and service. We have been there two times during our stay in Kuala Lumpur and been totally satisfied. The restaurant offers various different dishes and main courses and differentiate between smoking (shisha area) and non-smoking guests as per guests wish. We really can recommend this restaurant with its great staff. Thank you very much for having us as your guests.

I had a wonderful experience at this oriental restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious — probably the best Arabic food I’ve had in Kuala Lumpur. Every dish was full of authentic flavors and served fresh.

A special thanks goes to KHEDR, the staff member who took my order. He was very polite, professional, and always had a warm smile that made me feel truly welcome. His service added a personal touch that made the meal even more enjoyable.

The restaurant’s décor is beautifully done, with traditional details that instantly transport you into an authentic Arabic atmosphere. Combined with the Arabic music playing in the background, it creates a unique and relaxing ambiance that makes you feel at home.

The location is convenient, and the overall value for money is excellent. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Arabic cuisine with great service and a charming atmosphere

We really enjoyed the environment, especially the outdoor seating where we could relax amidst greenery and fresh air. The food was delightful and the service was great too.
What truly impressed me was noticing the complimentary coffee grounds offered for gardening when I was leaving and they immediately approach me that’s complimentary and I can bring back home! It’s such a thoughtful touch , turning what would be waste into something useful. Thank you for the effort to dry, pack, and share it with customers. It’s a small gesture, but it shows your commitment to sustainability and supporting a greener future. Much appreciated!

First time visited this restaurant to celebrate my mum birthday. Have a high expectation for this restaurant as being to Serai & food is good. I booked table to avoid restaurants running full but when reach restaurant only few tables occupied.

Service

The service was exceptional from start to finish. Staff were warm, attentive, and highly professional. Orders were taken promptly, special requests were handled with ease, and food was served efficiently. The team checked in at the right moments without being intrusive, making the entire experience smooth and pleasant. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality truly stood out.

Ambience
Jibby by The Park offers a warm, botanical-inspired ambience with a stunning glasshouse design. The space is filled with natural light during the day, surrounded by lush greenery and modern rustic décor. High ceilings, hanging plants, and wooden accents create a relaxed yet elegant vibe. The outdoor seating adds a serene, garden-like touch, especially for pet lovers.

Food
Overall food is average & nothing outstanding but to my surprise tiramisu cake is really good. The tiramisu cake was absolutely indulgent — perfectly layered with light, airy mascarpone cream and espresso-soaked sponge. Each bite had a balanced mix of sweetness and rich coffee flavor, with a hint of cocoa dusting on top that added a delightful bitterness. The texture was smooth and velvety, melting in the mouth. It’s a well-executed classic that felt both luxurious and satisfying — a true treat for dessert lovers

Been to a few Jibbys, never bored to try another outlet. Sometimes the occasion also adds to the overall impression. Let’s get to the food. Today’s order, Thai bbq Beef Ribs bowl with rice and fried egg. Simple combination of colours makes the food simply welcoming. The ribs were marinated well and caramelised, and deboned. Expecting it to be more chewy and firm, but it’s simple enough for sharing. Moussaka Lasagna is filled with beef mince, good puree sauce and lasagna layers with cheese. Also avocado paste provided the additional taste and presentation. Apt enough to tantalise your taste buds. Next was Salmon Hayek Pizza, sounds popular by the tone itself. By the ingredients, good pizza dough puffed all around the edge. Smoked salmon slices covered 60% of the entire pizza and that delighted every guest at the dining. Excellent to savour with your hands directly into the mouth for a full degustation. The Pulled Duck pasta also packs a liking, rich puree bolognese sauce, tangy spaghetti just the right level and the nicely shredded or pulled duck meat and holds the entire dish together. No coffee today but a little cheat day with the Black Forest milkshake to bring out the kid in me, aah.. Yummy food with a cheeky smile with the drink, for a celebrative occasion with the wonderful team members. The food, the company, the occasion combi formula never go wrong @ Jibby.

A Hidden Gem Away from the Crowds

Tucked away in the bustling Bukit Bintang area, Al Sultan is a humble Middle Eastern restaurant that offers a fantastic escape from the more crowded spots. While the popular Damascus restaurant across the street draws big crowds with its social media buzz, we found Al Sultan to be a genuine discovery.

The food is absolutely fantastic and represents great value for money. The service is also top-notch, attentive and friendly. A special shout-out to the grilled chicken, which was cooked to perfection, and the hummus, which was exceptionally creamy and flavorful.

The only significant downside was the shisha. Smoking is allowed indoors, and the secondhand smoke became quite heavy as the evening went on, which could be an issue for some diners.

Despite that, the decor and atmosphere are wonderful. We highly recommend Al Sultan for its incredible food and service and will definitely be returning.

Good taste and fresh because they made a noodle. They have open kitchen concept, so we can see how to make a noodle and others food. Their chicken dumpling is very good and full of protein. My son loves their dumpling. If you don’t like a noodle, you can try to eat fried rice. Their fried rice is delicious with smoke taste and suitable too for kids. Of course it’s halal restaurant even their cooked and staff are Chinese. I’m very satisfying ate here.

KL The Guide

Mee Tarik Jalan Sultan is a halal Chinese-Muslim restaurant known especially for its hand-pulled noodles (“mee tarik”) and rich broths. The flagship Jalan Sultan outlet near Chinatown is popular, especially for supper, thanks to its late hours. Its beef ramen is a highlight—a deep, fragrant soup with springy noodles—and there are also good side-dishes like pan-fried dumplings, lamb skewers, and spicy cumin lamb. The ambiance is casual and inviting, good for hanging out after hours.

Not really a big noodle fan, but this was actually really good. Price was around 20 MYR (forgot the exact amount). Service was fast — the food came out in under 5 minutes. The place is clean and ordering is easy, just scan the QR code and order from your phone.

Fun part — we even got a free extra bowl of noodles! So I only paid for one but shared with my wife. Not being stingy — we were just on a foodie trip so we wanted to try as much as we could . Really worth it for a quick, tasty meal!

I didn’t expect much from this eatery because I feel that halal lamian won’t taste great. I’m also a non beef eater, so I have limited noodle selection. Overall, the tastes of their noodle is not too bad. Portion is huge. Out of so many things we ordered, from noodles to skewers to dumplings, what I like most is the simplest dish, the scallion pancake. Crispy & fragrant, eat it with their chilli oil. Perfect taste. They have indoor & outdoor seatings. Tremendous crowd with all sorts of customers.

This spot in Kuala Lumpur is a true delight for anyone craving comfort food. The pasta was exactly what I had in mind at that moment, perfectly sweet, tender and utterly satisfying. Yet, it wasn’t the pasta that stole my heart. That honor goes to the watermelon juice – oh my, simply heavenly. Fresh, vibrant and bursting with flavor, it left me completely enchanted.

Since we were two people, we got in quickly.
The service is efficient and quick.
The food tastes really good. They know to handle different kinds of meat very well.
Though the dumplings and meat sticks are popular, what stole our heart was the beef pie. It was very well made and would go back just to have that.
The place is a little too pricy, making it hard to become a regular place. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

First time here for dinner. Booked the place via website with additional request of birthday celebration.

Good points : Excellent service, ample of parking.

Sadly, the food is below average. Bruschetta was good. Salmon ravioli was undercooked. The ravioli edges tasted like raw dough and salmon filling overcooked. They kindly offered to return it back to the kitchen to cook for a few minutes but we didn’t think it was worth the hassle. Lamb ragu pasta was average as well. I have tasted better Italian food. Tiramisu was plated at table side as shown in the video. Suitable for those who prefer strong coffee soaked biscuits.

Special mention to the staff who remembered the request without reminder.

Everything was absolutely perfect – from the food to the atmosphere. The dishes were delicious, fresh, and well-prepared, and I enjoyed every bite.

I also want to give special appreciation to Derence, our waiter, who provided excellent service. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Thank you for making our visit wonderful!

The food quality here is truly impressive, and every dish we tried was delicious. It’s not the cheapest Italian restaurant, but the flavors, presentation, and overall experience make it worth every ringgit. The pizzas and pastas are especially outstanding, with rich cheese, perfectly seasoned sauces, and a taste that feels authentically Italian.

The atmosphere inside is warm and stylish, with exposed brick walls and cozy décor that create a relaxed yet slightly upscale vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a long dinner with friends or family, but it also works perfectly for a date or a special occasion.

Service was attentive and friendly — the staff took time to explain dishes and checked in at just the right moments. Plus, being located in Publika adds to the charm, as you can easily combine your meal with a nice stroll around the artsy shopping area.

Overall, this is not a place you go for “cheap eats,” but rather for authentic Italian flavors and a dining experience that feels special. Highly recommended, and I’d definitely come back again!

We enjoyed the great service given by Miss Farra. She was wonderful and made sure we were comfortable. We ordered Francesca, Salmon Fettuccine, ACE juice and Mango Tango. My mother enjoyed the Mango Tango and we both were satisfied with Francesca. However, I think it’ll be better if you filled the empty spaces with more toppings as the pizza can get really overwhelming with just the cheese (which I’m not complaining, I love how rich it was). As for the salmon fettuccine, the texture was nice but the taste slightly disappointing. It felt too bland. The ACE juice was just mediocre. I could definitely taste the orange and carrot but I was hoping for more sourness from the lemon.

came here for my spouse’s birthday. had a very great dining experience. Their waiter Farra and Miezan were very friendly and warm towards us. We brought a cat with us and Farra helped us to accommodate our beloved pet. Both of them were very attentive about our experience.

The food was also very very good. We ordered Stella Pizza, Salmon Ravioli and Squid Ink Pasta. Although the food was quite warm when it came, the taste was still great. A bit on the pricier side, but for the taste and experience, definitely worth it for special occasions. Their dessert : Tiramisu and Pana Cotta is to die for.

Mizan was really helpful throughout our visit. He frequently checked in on us if the food was okay and was really friendly. Food was amazing as usual. Their tiramisu is a must-have if you come here. They prepare it tableside at the end of your meal. We will definitely visit Positano Risto again.

Second time at this restaurant and I’m 110% happy again! The service is super fast, the food is delicious, and the portions are huge. The lamb cubes are fantastic – tender meat served with salad, fries, and more. The oven-baked chicken with vegetables is easily enough for two people
Don’t miss the Moroccan or Arabic tea—it’s a must! Highly recommended!

An impressively designed Middle Eastern restaurant that is as warm as it is inviting.
The part grocery store fit out was a nice touch that added to the atmosphere.

Food tasted fresh, portions were reasonable and service was adequate.

The cheese and garlic naan was particularly enjoyable, despite it not being one of the traditional food items.

The place was nice, ambience yet too crowded. Lack of communication and language barrier. The food not so good since their staff keep missing my order and last minute inform this and that menu not available after 1/2 half.. takeaway items also take time to prepare when order 1 hours before…

P/s: not so comfortable for dining since customer are allowed to smoking or vaping even inside the building.

Service appalling. Staff have no idea on their menu or Arabic food titles. Fattoush was a day old which wet limp lettuce and soggy fried bread, when I asked for a fresh one was told no. Half chicken less than acceptable. Naan bread (Indian and tasteless). Made comment to Syrian owner manager who wasn’t much in a caring mood to assist. For an Arabic style restaurant it fails big time and they would be whipped in the UAE or Lebanon for this food served.

We had dinner at Al Amar in Pavilion. The location is nice, but overall the food was just okay, nothing particularly special.

When I ordered San Pellegrino, the glass they gave me had a carrot juice–colored print on it which didn’t look clean, so I requested a new one.

The waiter replaced it, but unfortunately poured away my half-full bottle. Also, in most Lebanese restaurants bread is usually complimentary, but here it’s charged (maybe that’s the rule in Malaysia, not sure).

It was an okay experience, but I don’t think I’ll return.

5 stars for food.

4 stars for service.

We have always loved coming to Al Amar. This is probably our seventh time here over the years. The last time we came, unfortunately, it was closed, so we had to go to the nearby one along the main road, which is not as good as this outlet.

Al Amar serves a wide range of Lebanese food ranging from meats, to plates, to pizzas.

Our go-to order would include hummus, shawarma, lamb chops, pizza for the young ones and kunafa.

The hummus is heavenly. Its creamy and slightly oily composition is served well together with the four pieces of bread that comes together with it. Not enough bread? No worries at all. Simply get another basket of four pieces for RM5.

The meats here are generally good. They come in decent portions and with some sides and vegetables. I went for the lamb cutlets this time. They were slightly burnt, but the charred taste was good.

To end the meal, go for the kunafa cheese.

The service here is hit and miss. The possibly middle eastern bosses do not really acknowledge the customers here. There was also an aunty who was fiddling with her phone. Thankfully, we had a lady and male server, who were generally more friendly and conversant.

Solid food offerings though a bit more expensive since you’re in a high-end mall. Staff were great, very helpful. The ful moudammas was terrible and I my favorite of the dishes. So hearty and rich. The rehab betenjan was similar to the baba ganoush we had the night before, but more savory. The mixed grill offered a range of tender, well seasoned meats. The coffee was very, very strong.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience at this establishment was not only disappointing—it was genuinely concerning.

As someone who values transparency, safety, and respect in food service, I was stunned to find dairy-containing items clearly marked as vegan on the menu. When I raised this with the staff, I met with the manager not once, but twice. The response? That “other vegan guests are okay with it.” This is not just unacceptable—it’s dangerous and shows a complete lack of understanding of dietary needs and ethical food practices.

Labelling dairy as vegan reflects a fundamental ignorance about food and allergens. It makes me wonder: Where else are corners being cut? If accuracy and guest safety are treated this carelessly on the menu, what else is being overlooked behind the scenes?

This isn’t about personal preference—it’s about trust. You wouldn’t accept treatment from a doctor with no medical training; so why should diners accept food from an establishment that doesn’t even grasp the basics of what it’s serving?

Until this restaurant takes accountability and invests in proper food education, I strongly recommend others think twice before dining here—especially those with dietary restrictions or food allergies.

Most food was not fresh and seemed to be microwaved to heat and serve. Worst Muhammara ever. Had to return it and they still charged for it. The beans were also from the fridge and reheated. There was no consideration they are serving from the fridge. Decent falafels however.

Overall very expensive. You’re paying for the location when you can eat for 1/4th the price at better restaurants just 100 meters up from Pavilion on Bukit Bintang. Do yourself a favour, just walk up a little bit to fresher, better and cheaper food.

Frequently asked questions about halal restaurants in Kuala Lumpur

What does "halal" mean in the context of food?

The term "halal" comes from Islamic Arabic, meaning "permissible" or "lawful." Halal food refers to food that is prepared according to Islamic dietary guidelines. This encompasses not only the ingredients themselves – ensuring they are permissible – but also the method of preparation, including equipment and handling practices, to avoid contamination with non-halal substances.

How can I identify halal restaurants in Kuala Lumpur?

Identifying halal restaurants in Kuala Lumpur is usually straightforward. Many restaurants display a halal certification from recognized authorities, such as JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia). Look for signs, posters, or certificates displayed prominently. You can also utilize online directories and apps specifically listing certified halal establishments.

What ingredients are typically avoided in halal cuisine?

Certain ingredients are universally avoided in halal cuisine. These primarily include pork and its derivatives (like gelatin or lard), alcohol, and any meat not slaughtered according to Islamic rites. There are also strict guidelines about cross-contamination and sourcing ingredients from reliable, halal-certified suppliers.

What is "Muslim-owned" versus "halal-certified"? What's the difference?

While a restaurant being Muslim-owned might suggest adherence to halal principles, it doesn't guarantee it.
