Best cinemas in Kuala Lumpur: find options near you

Definitely will be one of my favorite place for movie sessions but due to the lack of PR teams, I’m not so keen to go there anymore… last time I came over, they said whatever things or foods I bought from their apps or kiosk is not available during the movie sessions so I have to choose another thing as replacement yet there is some price differences between what they offer vs what I order… worse part they don’t even apologized or doesn’t have solution how to refund the extra payment I made before… so I just walk away since the staff can’t help to assist me with the issue… toilet was clean, cinema hall was comfy… overall okay, but hopefully they have PR team to handle this kind of issue next time…

Everything about the facility and environment here is nice. However, I find it very disappointing that there are no chairs or seating areas provided for customers while waiting to enter the hall. This is quite inconvenient, as we are left standing around without a proper waiting area.

For comparison, TGV at One Utama provides sufficient seating for their customers before hall entry, which makes the experience much more comfortable. I believe it is quite shameful for GSC management not to consider such a basic facility for their patrons.

I truly hope GSC can take this matter seriously and improve the customer experience by providing proper seating arrangements.

One of the best mall at Kuala Lumpur.
Excellent for hanging out.. with plenty of shopping outlets, electronic and fashion items, high quality food and drinks and places on the walkways to sit n relax..

Service is fast. You need to scan their QR to place your food order. Prices is affordable. Food Quality and taste acceptable. Will eat again.

One of our best get-togethers location for us to enjoy good movies in town.
Love coming here ~ the D-Box seating, comfortable chairs, great sound system and cleanliness of the cinema are some of the top reasons we choose it.

GSC Cinema – Spacious, comfy seats, a bit slow on snacks
The cinema is large and clean, with comfortable seats – perfect for a relaxed movie night.
However, when I ordered french fries, it took a bit longer than expected, probably because it was busy.
Still a good experience overall, and I’ll definitely come back again.

I had an amazing experience at GSC Mid Valley recently. From the moment I arrived, the staff were courteous and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the entire visit. The ticketing process was efficient, and the spacious lobby provided a relaxing spot to grab some snacks before the show.

The cinema itself was impressive, boasting comfortable seating that provided ample legroom and a perfect view of the screen. The sound and projection quality were outstanding—crystal clear audio and vibrant visuals that really brought the movie to life. I also appreciated the clean and well-maintained environment, including the spotless washrooms and tidy seating areas.

The convenient location within Mid Valley Megamall makes it easy to plan a whole day out, from shopping and dining to catching a movie. Overall, GSC Mid Valley delivered an exceptional movie experience, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended for movie lovers!

The exterior is well organised and maintained however I am slightly disappointed with the cinema itself. I tried the big atmos DBox but I expected better. “Bigger screen” it is really not. The movement of chairs wasn’t as much either. The staff were friendly and polite.

Been a while since I went to a cinema. Booked ticket online (additional RM1 booking fee) and everything was a breeze, no hassle. No physical tickets though. Queue up like everyone else to claim f&b at the counter, scan QR and in we went. Wanted to point out that the waiting area is disappointing, AC not cooling enough and the seats are peeling off.

Waiting area is in a secluded area where you can’t even see which hall is ready. ‍♂️ not to mention that it’s small and oddly shaped.

Got the HLB BIG screen sound experience. Not as big as I anticipated, like I said been a while. No usher to guide you, just follow the light and you’ll reach the screen. Screen seems to lack sharpness and colors are dull even for an anime movie – Ne Zha 2. Sound on the other hand is pretty good.

Seatings are well spaced especially the leg room. I’ve tried my best to lean and yet i can’t touch the seat in front of me. seats are PVC/leather material, clean enough for me. Was expecting the AC to be cold but it is not. Not sweating hot but not cooling either. Pop corn comes in 2 flavors nowadays. I accidentally ordered the wrong one – sea salt and it’s not good. At least not to my taste buds. Managed to change to the regular sweet (caramel) at the counter. sweet and savoury.

After the movie ends, you won’t be able to use the toilets in GSC, you’ll have to use the ones in the mall and it’s crowded.

All in all a good experience except for the AC and waiting area. Add more LCDs maybe? To let those who arrived early to know that their hall is ready.

GSC mytown what happen to customer service on Premiere class.. Why you guys always check up on customer and asking for tickets.. Ofcourse we have the tickets, thats why we enter the premiere hall.. 3 times staff asking to show the tickets.. Omg so annoying, im a regular gsc mmber for a longtime.. Please fix this

I’m sorry to say, but this is the worst service I have experienced. I arrived 30 minutes before the movie start, and still didn’t receive my food and drink after the movie had started, which was 10 minutes long. The queue is very long! People who bought online need to queue with the kiosk buyer, and there are no initiatives to smooth the queue, even people queue outside the GSC. Only two counters were open??? I asked the staff to open more counters, but the response was really hurtful and not friendly. I’m so sorry, GSC, if the service is out, I’m giving you 1/5. It should be lower than 1.

I know this mall always does this fire alarm testing and notification. It’s very annoying that’s why I don’t patronise this mall anymore. My friend invited me for a movie here and I came with hesitation. And it was proven right. Halfway into the movie this fire alarm testing went off for about 20 minutes. Nobody explained anything. All the staff just maintained what they were doing. No information at all. I won’t be coming to this mall anymore. It’s so bad

slow service. people have been queuing to take the processed food for almost 20 minutes and none of the staff even has the sense to cater. we had to wait another staff god knows where was her at that time to cater us and our movie had started the moment we entered the hall. we bought our food 10 minutes before they allow our hall to enter somehow still ended up being late. improve!

I watched last MI movie at the IMAX cinema in Sunway Putra Mall , and it was an incredible experience. The screen was so massive, and the visuals were unbelievably vivid but had somewhat pixilated. Every detail stood out, especially in the action scenes. The surround sound system was powerful and immersive. I could feel the rumble during intense moments. The seats were comfortable and well-spaced, making experience relaxing. What I appreciated most was how clean and well-maintained the theater was. Everything felt premium, from the lighting to the overall atmosphere. It’s definitely one of the best cinema experiences I’ve had in Kuala Lumpur. It’s located on the top floor.

SLOWEST TGV STAFF EVER.

The food aren’t that great, the staff are so lazy and slow and even after getting scolded they have become slower…

Also theres no sign indicating where to collect the Iris specs and I had to line up 3 times….

TGV Sunway Velocity is where the biggest IMAX With Laser and 12 channel sound in Malaysia is located ! Screen was very very huge and the sound system will makes you feels like your soul left your body

Easily the largest IMAX in Malaysia. This is one 9f the old school Grand Theater IMAX halls (this is a really good thing). So the screen is 6 stories high. I flew here just to see Oppenheimer because it was the largest near me out but not as far as Australia at that time. It’s nearly the same size as krungsi in Bangkok and the snail IMAX hall in Jakarta mini park. Unfortunately like those other theaters as well this had the 70mm projector removed (not sure this one ever had one) and unlike sm mall Manila IMAX or Krungsi and Shaw LIDO in Singapore this one hasn’t had the laser upgrade yet either when I went so it still had the og digital 2k by 2k Xenon projector (technically still a 4k image) I’m praying they do not switch this to a XT projector like Mumbai did. It would be a waste. People pay to see this Grand screen to get the full of immersion of the full 1.43:1 aspect ratio whole retaining unbelievable detail. If there’s no way they can go back to film or put a dual GT (8k) system in the please just use the COLA system with 12 channels if possible. Those 2k projects lacks a lot of detail and in some cases looks worse then a regular theater when shown on such a massive size screen. This is one of my favorite theaters in my favorite city (and I’ve been to alot around the world). I hold this place in high regard I want to see the best it can be here. I hope they can upgrade this to a system to finally show in 1.43:1 as it’s intended.

Indulge experience really good! I brought my fam and watched movie at indulge and they really love it! The staff are friendly and will order our food upon arrival. Once we went into the room, the staff will start to serve the drinks and foods. So nice experience.

Nice interior to take pictures but it was so crowded when we went (Monday morning) so it’s tough to get a relaxed quiet vibe if that’s what you’re expecting visiting a bookstore. But definitely worth visiting especially if you like art scenes. Got cool posters for 3 RM for souvenir, which I imagine is hard to find in other parts of KL

2/F: a kind of gallery, fee payable. Look like a cinema. Didn’t enter there.
3/F: a photogenic bookshop. Attractive site.
Toilets are available, free of charge.

A novel venue, being an old cinema that was converted into a bookstore. The building also houses a host of other vintage shops, reminiscent of the 1990s. I found the place to be largely more suited for capturing picturesque scenes rather than for purchasing anything, though a book lover may find a good deal at the bookstore.

Interesting place.. I feel excited when the moment I step in to this place in the busy KL city.

I love the blend of heritage and contemporary vibes, and browsing through the shops brought a wave of nostalgia.

The bookstore on the upper level is fantastic, and it’s clear why so many people come here for photo shoots.

I’m looking forward to seeing the new stores currently under renovation, and I’ll definitely be back for another visit!

I recently visited what used to be a popular local cinema, but unfortunately, it’s clear the place has seen better days. From the moment I stepped in, I noticed stained carpets, and a musty smell lingering in the air. The lobby felt outdated and poorly lit, with unattended trash bins.

The theater seats were worn out and uncomfortable, with some even broken armrests. Worst of all, the air conditioning barely worked, making the whole experience stuffy and unpleasant.

It’s a shame because this place probably used to have charm, but without proper maintenance or upgrades, it’s just not worth visiting anymore. I hope the owners consider restoring it—or at least doing the basics—to make it a functional cinema again.

Poor quality compared to other TGV cinemas in Selangor. I’m really disappointed.

Waiting for the bus to Singapore at NU Sentral was smooth and convenient. The area is clean and organized, with clear directions. Big thanks for giving free toilet access—a rare and much-appreciated facility while waiting. Makes the travel experience a lot more comfortable!

Nu Sentral Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur.

Golden Screen Cinemas(GSC) has nearly 9-11 screens in this multiplex.

I saw the Tamil film Maareesan in this multiplex. The cost of the ticket was RM15 which I thought was reasonable.

Menonton ‘A Minecraft Movie’ di Hall 10. Panggung bersih, sejuk dan selesa. Check in & redeem makanan melalui pembelian online sangat smooth. Selepas movie tamat tiada arahan dari operator untuk guide keluar di mana end up terpaksa keluar ikut pintu masuk.

​I had my first movie experience at TGV KLCC today, and I was so impressed! From the helpful staff who served my food and drinks to the friendly faces at the mini-games, the service was outstanding. The cinema hall was very clean, and every single staff member, including the cleaners, was incredibly kind and helpful. The customer service was truly top-notch. I really appreciate their hard work and can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend this cinema!

A brilliant experience for movies. It is highly recommended that you book your tickets online or buy it from the theater two hour prior to the movie, specially during holidays, tickets do sell fast for this cinema hall.
Caramel popcorn they serve is way too sweet but quantity is less.
Drinks and other snacks seemed fine. Movie hall was clean and sound quality was very good.

Watched F1 in the indulge theatre, lying down on a massage bed. Absolutely a great experience, had a 2 course meal during the film which was included and pre-ordered. Popcorn and drinks were also complimentary in the private lounge. Highly recommend.

Going to the cinema felt like a mini workout challenge It’s on the 6th floor but basically the mall’s escalator layout is… suspicious. Pretty sure they just want us to burn calories before the popcorn.

Cinema itself is decent! BUT there were no staff at the hall counter?? We scanned our own tickets, checked the screen ourselves — felt like we were doing part-time shifts lol. Where’s my salary, TGV?

Also… the hall was FREEZING. I was layered up like it was winter and still shivering. Gotta bring a blanket next time!

Came here for the third time. And for the third time THE STAFFS ARE SEEMED TO BE MISSING. Like there’s literally no one stationed at the ticket point (literally every time I came) and I only seen one staffs working at the front of food station. Are y’all short-staffed? I legit just scan my qr code, had to look at the screen for confirmation (like I’m a pekerja yang tak dibayar) and just walk away to the cinema. Luckily the environment was clean and pleasing. I’m too kind to give a damn three star.

This is GSC, one of the best options. It’s located at Level 5. Being here for the last 9 years and never disappointed. No complaints on the theatre segment.
But the mall is quite rundown, and lots of shops and offices are not operating. So you might feel the whole mall is empty and dull, especially on weekdays.

Overall, this is a good option if you want to watch movies with less stress thinking about parking.

The seats are stained. Not a pleasant experience. Water was kept leaking in the male’s one of the urinal. That is so much of waste of natural resources. I would expect big giants like this play their part in sustainability.

Ordering online should prevent us from long queues but not here. Defeats the purpose of ordering online. Great work GSC Quill City Mall. U should learn from IOI City Mall. Huge disappointment.

i went here the other day and order sea salt popcorn, but it literally taste like nothing. i tried asking them to change the popcorn because it’s literally taste blend, and they told me sea salt are supposed to have no flavour. I’ve ordered sea salt popcorn all my life, and this one just taste blend, would not go here again

吉隆坡观影天花板！花普通钱享包场待遇谁懂啊

在吉隆坡挖到宝藏影院Aurum Theatre，看《南京照相馆》直接把体验拉满！

进门就被惊艳到——暖光氛围+精致装潢，完全不像普通影院的冷清感，拍照都很出片 。重点是座椅！软乎乎的沙发VIP大座，陷进去直接不想起来，久坐也不腰酸，观影舒适度直接拉满～

最惊喜的是门票福利！居然包含一杯饮料+餐食，点了三文鱼饭直接被圈粉 ！米饭喷香，三文鱼鲜嫩入味，分量还超足，完全不是凑数的简餐，边吃边看电影也太幸福了！

而且人巨少！整场下来没几个人，花普通影院的钱，愣是看出了私人包场的感觉，全程安安静静没人打扰，沉浸式看片超爽！

下次来吉隆坡看电影，还选这家！性价比和体验感都赢麻了～

Went to the cinema with my husband this evening and had such an amazing luxury movie experience! The service from a staff member named Emyefida was truly top notch, she greeted us warmly, helped us purchase our tickets, and even ushered us right to our seats inside the cinema hall. She really made me feel the true meaning of a “luxury cinema” experience. Our refreshments were also served directly to our seats, which was such a nice touch!
