We made a last minute booking for their chauffeur service via whatsapp, their replies were quick even when it was late at night. The driver, Ken, arrived 15 minutes earlier than the agreed time, the drive was smooth and safe (baby carseat can be provided if requested, I asked). We were provided with Toyota Alphard, it was very clean and in excellent condition. We had a comfortable ride throughout. The driver came very promptly too whenever we were ready to move on. Towards the end of service, we asked for extension so we could eat out for dinner and they said yes and did not charge us for it! Overall 2.5⭐. Based on the glowing reviews, I booked a tour with Lafiy for a day trip to the Genting Highlands. Unfortunately our experience was anything but 4.9⭐.

The booking process was efficient – we agreed on the itinerary and price quickly. Lafiy was responsive and clear with its terms and conditions. However, it went downhill when it came to the administrative side of the tour.

I was informed of the name of the driver and his contact number a few days before the tour. The driver contacted me to ask for the pick up location. This information was clearly stated in my itinerary and WhatsApp instructions. There was no need for me to send the driver the pick up location.

Next the name of the tour guide (female because of the name) was given to me on the next day. I called but there was answer. A man returned my call and I went through the itinerary with him. He helped me to book certain entrance tickets. I thought he was the tour guide but he wasn’t – and I wasted my time going through the itinerary with him!

On the day of the tour, the female tour guide showed up. She was not the best guide. Even though she was given the itinerary, she was clueless about the breakfast venue which was on the itinerary! A simple Google search would have provided the answer). Throughout the tour, she was a passive guide. Post-tour, she kept approaching us for our pics to use as future reference for their own tour. Not the most professional of behaviour.

It seems that Lafiy subcontracted the day trip to another company that provided the tour guide. While I am aware tour companies rely on freelancers (drivers, tour guides, etc) but Lafiy should have done much more to ensure the quality of its subcontractors. The driver was not the friendliest of people but this I can accept as his main job was to drive us around safely.

There were a couple of plus points – the van was almost new and the price competitive.

Did the 21 attractions tour in KL with Guide Guna and had a great time! We started around 9:45 AM at Batu Caves and wrapped up the day at the Petronas Towers around 6 PM. Guna was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout.
