After the renovation, this was my first time back at Dragon I and I must say, I met one of the best waiters I’ve ever encountered in Malaysia’s F&B industry Mr. Min Oo.
His service easily outshines the Chinese lady and male captains in suits, who honestly weren’t attentive at all!!!!!!!!!!!
Min Oo was outstanding !! he cleared dirty plates promptly, replaced them without me asking, and refilled sauces before I even noticed they were low. Each time he served a dish, he greeted politely, said thank you and sincerely wished us to enjoy our meal. His attentiveness and genuine manners really stood out.
To be honest, I haven’t experienced such amazing service in a very long time. Meanwhile both captains in black suits were just standing around, not looking out for customer needs at all.
I even asked to see his name tag because I wanted to know who this gem was “Min Oo” truly deserves recognition for making our dining experience memorable!

Food was great and atmosphere was awesome. However service needs to be improved. Most wait staff were foreign and had issues speaking English or Mandarin so ordering was an issue. The Peking Duck Two Course set was decent. The first course being the Crispy skin and sliced meat had good aroma without any gamey smell. This was good but certainly not the best I’ve had. The second course of the fried carcass however turned out somewhat hard and dry. I don’t appreciate that you have to order the pancake and condiments separately.
Fish Slice with Sour Vegetables was decent but not sour enough.
Stir fried vegetables and stir fried mushrooms were also decent. I preferred the mushrooms with the spicy sauce and this is Recommended.
The Cold chicken dish was flat and somewhat tasteless.
The Steamed Bao with Molten Salted Egg filling was good. The filling was runny and not overly sweet or salty. This is Recommended as well.
Overall the food was decent and service was attentive.

This is my 1st time visit to Din Tai Fung @Pavilion. As what it famous with, Din Tai Fung always well mantained their quality. The staffs are all well trained and know how to communicate with the new customer without making customer feels awkward with their questions.
I am impressed with how they handle problems, even during very peak dining hours. Soft spoken, quick response to get everything done. Food wise, I personally feel the shrimp egg fried rice taste delicious and better than other branch. Overall, this is the branch I will get my customers / friends / families to visit in future

Excellent service by Asher who was extremely courteous and professional. For example, when he cleaned the tables he ensured the detergent was sprayed away from customer’s table and I saw he automatically gave a customer an extra table due to limited space.
Food was good, much better than Din Tai Fung in Singapore. Also, this branch offered stainless steel bowls and cups for kids, which only come in plastic form at other restaurants.
The dumpling looked much bigger on the photo and did not meet my expectations in taste.

A clean and well-organised dining space with a calm and comfortable atmosphere.

The dishes were flavourful as expected. The oriental salad will always be a good start. The hot and sour noodle soup was rich and spicy, and the dumplings, were fresh with a nice chewy skin and tasty fillings. The bitter gourd and ribs soup paired nicely with the plain noodles, not bitter at all.

Service was polite and efficient. Staff were attentive and made sure everything was served promptly and correctly.
Cost:
Prices are on the higher side for a casual meal, but the quality, consistency, and experience make it worth it.

Food was good, but u went in with pretty high expectations. The pork xiaolong bao was the best followed by pork and crab roe, then the truffles. The Dan Dan noodles were ok, not spicy, but lots of meat. The spicy wontons were great, excellent sauce and fresh, bouncy shrimp. There were out of the green beans and pea shoots, so got the spinach which was ok. Prices were very fair though. Not bad, just expecting more I guess.

We stumbled upon this old-school Chinese eatery after finding out the claypot rice nearby had a one-hour wait — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip.
Only later did we learn that the place is actually a Michelin Bib Gourmand spot, which made the experience even more special.
We tried the braised pork belly, minced pork with fried tofu, and a simple stir-fried spinach. The braised pork belly was incredibly tender, melting in the mouth with every bite, and came in a generous portion. But the star of the meal was easily the minced pork with fried tofu — rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. Even the spinach, though simple, was fresh and delicious.
A truly memorable find that I’d gladly return to.

This old-timer has been around for more than half a century and still delivers decently good Cantonese fares. Their signature pipa duck was excellent – it wasn’t too fatty unlike many restauranters who favor using plump fowl. We had a really fresh steamed grouper and the ying yang noodles was also well executed.
Interestingly this place isn’t on the tourist radar – we came on a Sunday for lunch and the place wasn’t crowded at all.

Many people mentioned that eating here is like a trip down memory lane. I must add that this has to be taken in a positive way: not only are the dishes old-school, every dish we ordered tasted fantastic, there were many wait staff so the minute when you request for extra condiments or tea, it was quickly served to the table; the food kept coming out at a decent pace so you weren’t kept waiting for ages in-between dishes. Although the pre-order menu said 2 days in advance, they graciously allowed us 1 day notice. To secure the table and pre-orders, a RM100 deposit was needed.
It was so worth it! The first pre-order dish was the Fried crispy chicken skin with fish paste & almond flakes. It was a huge dish and the presentation and taste was almost reminiscent of a roast suckling pig. Absolutely yummy with the plum chilie sauce. The fish paste was pounded so well, it was like faux chicken meat (qq in texture).
The second pre-order was the amazing handcrafted Crispy fried roll with dried oyster, salted eggs and shrimp. Each thin sesame shell moulded like half an egg held an enormous salted duck egg yolk, 2 dried oysters and gazillions chopped up shrimp meat. So delicious! So sinful.
The other a la carte dishes ordered after we arrived also tasted very good: the mustard greens with mushrooms and huge sliced baby corn were served in a stewed style, just ladle it over white rice like mui fan, topped wth raw garlic and sliced green chillies, heavenly!!
The duo styled Kailan turned out to be a childhood favourite: mermaid tresses (the leafy part of kailan) and sliced kailan stems with baby white bait. Hmmmm the tresses ‘melt’ when you hold them in the mouth, sweet and salty. The stems were chunchy, not stringy at all.
The sweet and sour pork in yam basket was a nice mix of yam ring filled with small pieces of pork and huge diced tomatoes and sliced pineapples.
The last dish was their popular stewed ee-mee with fried wantons. The noodles were crunchy with a wet sauce poured over. It tasted very scrumptious.
Parking in this neighbourhood is difficult so best to catch a Grab here.

Delicious food, though a bit on the pricey side.
We ordered the fried shrimp with salad and mayo (RM40), tofu with pumpkin sauce, and stir-fried veggies. With these 3 dishes , 2 glasses of tea and 2 plates of rice , total cost was 90 MYR.
Everything was tasty, though the veggies could’ve used a bit more salt.
Overall, it’s a good place to dine—just better enjoyed with 3–4 people so you can share more dishes. Not ideal for a two-person meal unless you’re ready to splurge a little.

Todo lo que pedimos estaba delicioso y a muy buen precio. Si buscas un sitio de dim sum donde asegurar comer rápido rico y a buen precio este es tu sitio. A nice and somewhat quiet restaurant on the 2nd floor of BVII. Food was generally good quality and executed well. We had the Yee Sang, Hot and Sour Soup, Dong Po Yoke (but without the mantao); Stir Fried French Beans with minced pork; Steamed Fish and Truffle Chicken. The Truffle Chicken was especially good with nice herbal and truffle aroma and taste infused into the chicken.
Service was a little erratic with the servers requiring more training on replacing plates and cutting the food into serving sizes.

Mango pudding not enough milk. Asked for more and they say CANNOT. No attempt to ask the chef. Offered to pay more and still NO. Not service orientated. Eventually came with a tiny extra portion which was not sufficient. Left the dessert half behind. Staff no initiative. Lots of other places to consider for a better meal experience.

I haven’t visited since the renovation, and while the new design is sleek and modern, it feels like some quality was sacrificed in the process. The food isn’t quite what it used to be during their earlier days – a noticeable decline in flavour. Prices have gone up, possibly to match the upgraded decor, but the value doesn’t feel the same. Service could be better – most of them are not around and even the ordering process takes a while.
That said, it’s still a reasonably decent spot for a business lunch or a convenient meal in town

If you’re looking for a good meal on Jalan Imbi, you could go to Oversea Restaurant. They’ve been around forever, serving up classic Cantonese dishes that are, by all accounts, delicious. I’d give them a solid 4/5 stars.
But the real magic of Oversea isn’t just in their food, it’s in the experience of getting there. You brave the Kuala Lumpur traffic, a rite of passage that feels less like a journey and more like a high-stakes game of chicken. You finally arrive, sweaty and triumphant, only to find the “Oversea” sign. It’s not a ship, or a plane, or even a restaurant with a view of the ocean. It’s just… on a street in the middle of the city. The name is a delightful lie, a delicious little joke.
Inside, the restaurant is a world of its own. It’s where families celebrate birthdays, business deals are made over plates of crispy-skinned pork, and you realize that “oversea” isn’t about the location at all. It’s about the feeling of being transported by good food, surrounded by the kind of loud, joyful chaos that makes a place a true institution. So while you may not see the ocean, you’ll definitely feel like you’ve arrived somewhere special.

We come here for family dinners & celebrations. Often crowded, this restaurant leans toward the higher end where the quality of the food has remained consistent over the years.
The ‘must haves’ include their signature roast pork & char siew. Remember to pre-order as they run out pretty quickly. The ‘sang choy pau’ or lettuce wrap is crunchy, juicy and fun to eat. My all time favourite seafood pick is the steamed ‘Soon Hock’ fish in soya sauce which you can order by weight. The lightly sweet, clean flavour with just soy & ginger is simple, yet exquisite. Another dish that I enjoy is the braised homemade tofu with luffa. It never disappoints. This time around, I also tried their crispy deep fried frog legs with ginger slices. The tender frog legs has a mild taste and the crunchy & aromatic ginger slices gives it a good contrast. It’s so good you will go back for more. Completed the dinner with my usual coconut pudding. It’s out of this world.

From the look, it is an old restaurant. However, at night, the out side structure was well lit, in fact quite bright, which give the customers sense of modern vibe.
We recommend book first before arriving as this restaurant is high traffic.
We came here actually for the sharkfin soup. The overall taste of the soup is superb. The fin, the crab meat, and other ingredient melt into this creamy soup.
Service is top notch. Some of the crew are old, must be work here for along time.

Visited it because of the excellent reviews especially on the charsiew and roast meat but sadly, it was sold out. (So do pre order or reserve if you want to try)
Ordered other dishes but nothing felt exceptional.
– Assam paste prawns – assam was okay but prawns didnt seem to absorb the taste.
– Mixed vegetables with belachan – okay
– Yang zhou fried rice – tasted different from usual ones. Can skip.
– Pork belly with salted fish – the pork was sliced extremely thin and sauce was abit too salty but nice.

Ate at another outlet years ago and had been wanting to come back to try. Unfortunately, only two of us, so we ordered only two dishes.
The roast pork and char siew were very good, not quite mind blowing. The roast duck? Bursting with flavor. I can’t say that was the best roast duck I’ve ever had, but it’s the best roast duck I can remember having. I missed it when it was finished!
Service was very slow. Slow to serve. Slow to produce bill. Missed serving us tissue until we asked. The chrysanthemum tea was weak. So with all that, it doesn’t get the top rating.

Was staying at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur. Did a search on Google for Chinese restaurants nearby and found this Michelin guide restaurant, which is within 5 minutes walking distance.
We ordered based on the lady captain’s recommendations and she didn’t disappoint us. Food was worth Michelin rating though price was a bit on a high side.
We went there for dinner as well as lunch dim sum on the next day. Suggest to call to reserve.

Remarkable quality! I opted to host my guests here and I was frankly basing this recommendation solely on the reviews I’ve seen. And boy was I glad that Elegant Inn delivered.
Food is generally fresh, well executed, and reasonably portioned. Service is not perfect, especially when it’s jammed packed due to manning constraints.
Plenty of sheltered parking in the office building with clean restrooms available. Highly recommended.

Very friendly Captain but ONLY 1 running around serving so many tables at one time as ONLY she understands & speaks Chinese compared to othet assistants are foreigners.
The food : bitter gourd (not enough wok hei and serving portion too small for 2), siu mai okay only, scallop mai is nice and love the presentation, nothing special though its Michelin rated.
Better come without expectations.

The service at the restaurant was okay, and the food was good. However, to me, it tasted quite standard — similar to many other Chinese restaurants. There wasn’t anything particularly special or unique that stood out.
What really affected the overall experience was the parking situation. Parking is very limited, and I had no choice but to use the jockey service, which cost RM20. Honestly, the food and dining experience didn’t feel worth the extra RM20 just for parking. I feel the restaurant should consider offering more convenient or affordable parking options for customers.

They have now won 3 years Michelin award in a row including the latest 2025. I’d say they deserve this award. Portion of food is big, beautiful plating on each dish. Delicious taste and happy to report hardly taste any MSG. Reasonable pricing. Attentive staff. Place is on a former Chin Woo martial arts and cultural club stadium, renovated to comfortable restaurant ambience. Clean toilet.

This long-standing Michelin-recognized restaurant has been part of my life since childhood — a true KL gem filled with memories for many locals. The food here is always consistently good and authentic, never disappointing. It’s a great spot to bring Chinese parents or elders for a comforting meal.
They’ve recently moved to a new location, which is much more comfortable and less noisy. You can now linger longer, but be warned — the air-conditioning is freezing! Bring a jacket if you tend to get cold.
You can also bring your own fresh fish — they’ll handle and cook it for RM60. Definitely make a reservation, especially on weekends. It gets packed, and during peak hours, food can take 30 minutes or more to arrive. Order early or don’t come too hungry.
Food tips:
• Pattaya fried fish and almond chicken are must-tries.
• Pork knuckle with sauce is just average — wouldn’t recommend.
Valet parking is available at RM20, and note that VIP rooms require a minimum spend of RM3,000.

The name is nostalgia enough to carry enough weight to bring me here. Surprisingly food here is still so nice. Love their claypot lamb, longdan fish head fuchuk soup, yam basket, pork belly (hongsiew). They serve traditional dishes we had since childhood. Very creative of them converting this old stadium to a nostalgia restaurant. This is the place you bring guests (overseas or local) to showcase local KL Chinese dishes. They have private rooms too. Better book early. Seats are always full here. Parking space is limited although they have valet service. I would recommend you to grab here.

Yesterday evening I took my 2 sisters n my sister-in-law n their families to this restaurant in KL to celebrate Mothers’ Day although the celebration is actually today – Sunday. We wanted to avoid the crowd n so we purposely celebrated it a day earlier. The restaurant was almost full n most of the tables were already occupied. This is a Michelin restaurant for the years 2023, 2024 n this year 2025. The hall is huge after the recent renovation. This place can accommodate more than 100 tables. Very suitable for a grand Chinese wedding since there is a large stage too with a good sound system. Upstairs are all the private dining rooms. We ordered a lot of seafood n some stir fry vegetables. The food was sizzling hot n tasted yummy. There are tanks of live fish n crayfish as well. Since it was so crowded , the whole place was rather noisy. That’s the only setback. The prices of the dishes were quite reasonable. Except for the noise, it was a place for some yummy Cantonese food.

Visited during Friday lunch hour and it was not too busy. The restaurant has relocated to a more spacious and modern setting, making it a comfortable dining experience. Do note that Waze location can be confusing, you can search for Stadium Chin Woo to reach out to this restaurant.
Parking is available at RM5/entry, though spaces may fill up quickly during peak hours. A bonus? You get a spectacular view of Merdeka 118 from the car park!
The food was absolutely delicious. My top recommendation is the Signature crispy Char Siew with perfectly balanced layers of fat and lean meat, coated in a sweet honey glaze. Another must-try is the ShaoXing wine Long Dan fish head, especially for those who enjoy a touch of alcohol in their soup. My friends couldn’t get enough of it! The boiled spinach was also fresh and flavourful, simple, but done right.
Service was decent overall. However, communication may be a challenge with some of the staff, so a captain or more experienced server is needed for menu explanations and order taking.
All in all, a satisfying lunch with great food.

두명이서 갔는데 진짜 오지게 시켜먹었습니다ㅎㅎ 내부는 시원할 줄 알았지만 내부도 더워요ㅠㅠ 말레이 자체가 더운가… 에어컨의 문제인가… 모르겠으나 덥습니다ㅎㅎ 음식들 다 맛있어요! 칠리크랩, 볶음밥, 오징어튀김, 사테(?) 시켰는데 진짜 다 맛있어요! 칠리크랩은 게살 발라먹는 거 좀 많이 귀찮은 부분… 하지만 소스 매우 맛있어서 볶음밥이랑 같이 먹으니까 맛있음!!!

Un lugar espectacular en plena calle Jalan Alor, lleno de vida y con un ambiente auténtico. Los platos son enormes y, lo más importante, realmente sabrosos. A pesar de ser comida callejera, todo transmite limpieza y confianza, comes con la tranquilidad de que está bien preparado.
Algo que me sorprendió es que puedes elegir el tamaño de los platos, aunque incluso la ración pequeña ya resulta muy generosa. Ten en cuenta que en Malasia las porciones suelen ser grandes, ¡aquí nadie se queda con hambre! La cocina es rápida, los sabores intensos y el servicio muy ágil, ideal si quieres probar varias cosas sin tener que esperar demasiado.
La relación calidad-precio es insuperable: pedimos dos entrantes, bebidas y dos platos principales por apenas 12 € en total. Para la cantidad y calidad de comida que ofrecen, es difícil encontrar algo mejor.
En definitiva, un sitio muy recomendable para sumergirse en la experiencia gastronómica de Kuala Lumpur: buena comida, buen ambiente y precios que invitan a repetir.

The food was great in terms of taste, quality, portion sizes and full of flavour. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and black pepper beef and both were just amazing. The beef was just tender, soft and juicy. Great Chinese food overall. The restaurant also advised they were halal. I liked this place so much that I had dinner here twice over 5 nights. Thai dishes were just ok, their main speciality is Chinese to be fair. Over all ambience is ok, after all they are located on a busy food street. I highly recommend you try this place. No regrets.

음식은 빠르게 나오는 편이다.
칠리크랩애서 신김치스튜 맛이 난다…왜 시큼한 걸까 ㅋ 소스 찍어먹으려 빵 따로 시켰다. 기본으로 나오는 빵은 찐빵(3개)인데, 찐빵보단 튀긴빵이 맛있다 역시 ㅎ
오징어 볶음은 맵지만 맛있었다.
스위트앤샤워 소스로 만든 음식들은 초등 저학년도 무난히 먹을 수 있는 맵기이다.
소고기 꼬치 시켰는데, 질긴데다 가운데는 소기름을 꽂아놨다…왜 소에서 램 맛이 나는걸까.
전반적인 음식 가격은 싸지도 비싸지도 않다.
맛도 기가막히게 맛있는 맛은 없다.
