Huge place to play different sports. Well-maintained.

They accommodate company events like with us.

In terms of parking, it looks plenty but drop-offs and pick-ups can get extremely crowded at times. Overall, this place is good.

The place is huge. I visited the section with the indoor sports arena, which is designed for various activities. I’m not sure how general access works, but from what I saw online, advance booking might be required.

After the event, I saw many young people around the arena, and also noticed a running track and a football field outside, suggesting it’s a popular spot for outdoor sports too.

I’m currently on my second class with Coach William, taking two classes per week for three months. I had zero swimming experience before this, but in just two sessions, I’ve already learned the flutter kick, breaststroke kick, breathing techniques, back-floating, and was introduced to back-floating squid swimming.

He monitors my form closely, corrects it gently, and gives encouragement when I get it right. Thanks to his guidance, I can now swim about 70% of the pool using the flutter kick and follow the routine confidently. He also advised me to keep practicing the breaststroke kick on my own to build consistency.

I highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn swimming. He’s patient, dedicated, and truly an excellent coach.

Exceptional swimming coaches who transformed my son’s relationship with water!

I cannot recommend Rukesh and William highly enough! Over just 3 weeks and 11 one-to-one lessons through the Inclusion programme, these two incredible coaches have completely transformed my son from being terrified of putting his head underwater to swimming confidently with his head submerged.

What makes Rukesh and William truly outstanding:

Overcoming Fear with Patience: They helped my son work through his water phobia using gentle, reassuring methods that built confidence step by step.

Exceptional Communication Skills: Despite my son’s communication challenges, both coaches found creative ways to connect with him through play and simple, clear signs that he could understand and respond to.

Constant Encouragement: Their positive, supportive approach kept my son motivated and excited about each lesson. They celebrated every small victory along the way.

Engaging Teaching Methods: Their playful approach and easy-to-follow instructions made learning fun rather than frightening. They turned what could have been a stressful experience into something my son looks forward to.

Technical Excellence: They taught proper breathing and swimming techniques so effectively that my son is now completely comfortable submerging underwater – something I never thought possible just weeks ago!

Well-Equipped Facility & Personalised Service: The swimming school is well equipped with quality gear. When we mentioned we were planning a snorkelling trip, Rukesh and William went above and beyond by introducing my son to snorkelling using their own equipment, preparing him perfectly for our family adventure.

Parent Communication: After each lesson, they provided detailed recaps of progress and practical guidance on how we could support his development during our own swimming time.

The transformation in my son has been nothing short of remarkable. Rukesh and William don’t just teach swimming – they build confidence, overcome barriers, and create positive experiences that last a lifetime. Any parent, especially those with children who have additional needs, would be incredibly fortunate to have these coaches work with their child.

Thank you both for your patience, expertise, and genuine care!

My kids have been at Bleu Fish Swim School for more than 2 years, a fantastic swimming centre with skilled-loving-patient coaches who emphasize on water safety. Coaches here do not rush kids to level up, they teach with a lot of patience and care , make sure the kids are able to master the techniques well, reminding them all the time. If need be, some private time with the kids alone to explain and demonstrate. My kids love the lessons here, they talked about how much fun the class is. My kids went from afraid of getting their face wet to swimming confidently on their own which is heart-warming for me. My son is always reluctant to leave the pool after swimming lessons , as they can have 5 mins playtime too. Sometimes coaches plays with them too, there is bonding between the kids and coach, not just come in for lesson, times -up, then bye bye type. The shower rooms here are clean, equipped with water heater. There is an air conditioned waiting area for parents equipped with CCTV where we can see the kids learn. Thank you to all the coached who teaches with passion and administrative personals as well, the coordination of lesson slots never had any hiccups.

My son is 4 years old, previously was terrified with the deep pool but the coaches here are very gentle and patient with him. They have never pushed nor pressured him. He is now very comfortable and confident in the water. It is always difficult to get him out of the water at the end of every class as he enjoys it so much. Sometimes the coaches will demo to the parents what the child learns at the end of class so we know the progression. The pool can get packed at times but overall we have a pleasant experience here. The admin staffs are also very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Really glad I found this place.

The National Aquatic Centre offers a genuinely impressive scale for swimmers of all levels. The main draw is undoubtedly the Olympic-size pool, which provides ample space for dedicated training and relaxed leisure. Accessibility for casual swimmers seems well-considered, though a more streamlined entry process would enhance the overall experience. The covered design is a definite plus, mitigating the impact of weather conditions.

While a high-performance training environment is clearly prioritized, ensuring the public enjoys maximum value and facility use should be a key focus. Improvements to the reception area signage would make the experience less confusing for casual visitors and ultimately improve the perception of the public swimming experience.

As a first‑time swimmer stepping into the National Aquatic Centre at Bukit Jalil, I was immediately struck by the scale—an Olympic‑size 50 × 25 m main pool, a diving well, plus an 8‑lane training pool with a sloping shallow end (1.2 m) rising to 1.8 m—ideal for nervous beginners

The pools are covered by a fabric dome, which made me feel sheltered and warmer than expected, and the water felt pleasantly temperate . However, sessions are limited to one hour per entry (RM8‑10), and lifeguards tend to blow the whistle a few minutes early—meaning actual swim time felt squeezed to about 45 minutes

On the plus side, the lanes are well‑maintained, and the Cafe and seating area nearby make for comfortable breaks. The changing rooms are functional but can be less than sparkling—showers sometimes leak and floors need better upkeep.

Verdict: For a beginner, it’s an impressive and encouraging venue—spacious, warm, and structured—with clear lane markings and depth options. But be prepared for brief sessions, early ejections, and less‑than‑pristine changing rooms. For improvement, a longer swim slot and cleaner facilities would make future visits even more inviting.

This swimming pool is cater for good swimmers because there are only lanes length wise. DSA is dominating the pool with signages everywhere that makes me think it is not meant for public swimming. Even the front big reception counter is for the academy and one needs to ask in order to find the public counter which doubles as a pro shop. The reason that I give 4 stars is mainly for a modern and clean environment that is hard to come by in public areas. This review is from the perspective of a person swimming as a public visitor.

--

This facility is not really for the public. They charge entry prices for public swimmers but only allow them to swim in the shallow pool with swimming lanes.

The main olympic swimming pool or the deep pool with the springboards are mostly vacant and off limits entirely for the public and reserved for the occasional course that takes place there.

Wanna jump? Wanna go ringdiving? You can’t.

Such a waste.

In typical malaysian fashion, noone in charge of this facility thought to themselves how this facility can be better for and provide more value for people coming here. No. Just close the majority of the facility off and let the public enter the kids pool.

Even if there are teams that train at this facility, for which it makes sense to reserve some space, the pools are still mostly vacant most of the time.

And the tragic irony is that they can probably be this nonchalant about wasting this facility because they receive government money, our taxes.

Furthermore they require male swimmers to wear skin tight swimming shorts. It is prohibited to wear slightly loose swimming trunks. I have never encountered such a rule anywhere in europe where I grew up.

What are muslim swimmers supposed to do who don’t want to show off their butt in skin tight clothes? This in a country like Malaysia? What is this nonsense?

Great place here. There is a cafe with great food for swimmers to eat after swimming. The pool is kept quite clean although the public pool can be a bit dirty sometimes. Starting blocks aren’t allowed to be used during public swimming. There is also swim training here and I definitely recommend to enroll your kids. Overall great place as an aquatic centre and probably is the best one here in KL.

Every time when I go swimming, I m very afraid to get tanned under hot sun or need to stand with cold water during rain season. Finally found a fully covered place with warm water to swim. Nice! Hopefully our govt can build more center like this to encourage citizen to swim. The downside is you only can swim 1 hour which is not enough. The nearest car park is zone D or you may park right in front of the center if they allow you to drive in.

Swimming lessons are good. However, in their quest to accommodate more customers, space have been sacrificed and the place have became crowded and stuffy.

Main issue is cleanliness. Upon highlighting this, was told the Coaches are the cleaners. However, this is a very bad and poor decision by the Management. Getting a full time Cleaner especially on Saturdays and Sundays is needed as the toilets and bathrooms need constant cleaning after use.

Neglect can be clearly seen (as shown in photo of exhaust fan in the toilet). Proper ventilation is also needed as the entire area is stuffy and hot when there are lots of people.

Swimmers will not be feeling cold (as claimed by the staff) as the swimming pool is heated. It would not be nice for those who have alrwady taken their showers but to get sweaty during blow-drying their hair due to the stuffy area.

Swimmers should also be barred from going out of the wet area (especially to the Dispensing Machine) for drinks as they will wet the floor, making it dangerous to others walking around the area.

Although it was my boy’s first time training (replacement class) with Coach Hong Riang, I appreciate how engaged he was throughout and how quickly he corrected my boy’s swimming posture when needed. I look forward to seeing my boy progress under Coach Hong Riang guidance!

Getting bad. Not recommended.

Point of view :
1) added a new pool, become super crowded during class change over
2) facilities not really well maintaining
3) keep on seeing new coaches face
4) due to turnover of coaches, I doubt the learning progress of a student
5) allowing parent standing at pool side and kept taking photos of the kids
6) feel like they are prioritised quantity rather then quality now

Well organised swim training programmes for all age levels and skills. The training pools for the squad training is a competition pool used for various state and National level competitions. Counter and pool staff are polite and helpful. Shower facilities could be improved though as the doors of some shower stalls could not be locked or the shower is not working.

Recently no more chairs at the aircond office for parents to sit while waiting for class. Weather can be humid outside. Brought own camping chair to sit but wasn’t allowed. Hope the management consider to look into this.

One of the best swimming academy in Malaysia that produces national level athletes. Most systematic teaching system, based my experience with other swimming academy d swim is one of the best that you can check progress online. Also the courses fee is on par with other or I would said slightly cheaper but the teaching quality is top notch.

This is the best swimming pool I ever used, but something it can be improved, for example, the changing room for OKU, please add some more hooks and put a bench or stool there, it would be very useful for old people like me.

We have autistic daughter attending this centre since April. Lessons wise has been good. But however we are annoyed with the management. It is hard as it is to find an instructor to teach our autistic daughter to learn how to swim, and it is even harder to find one in our area. That is why we decided to go for an hour back to back lessons with the same teacher thinking it would be worth our time travelling from afar. Our daughter classes was supposed to be from 12 noon to 1 pm, however midway through her lessons we were contacted by someone from the management stating that the 12.30noon -1pm class has been cancelled. Instead they will pushed that slot to 11.30am, without even mentioning to us that it will be under a different teacher. So imagine our surprise when we find out our one hour back to back class was divided between 2 teachers at separate section of the pool, which makes it unrealistic, unlogical, especially for our autistic daughter. We were told to deal with it with the management, which we did. But instead of giving us a clear answer, we were told that they will get back to us on this matter. WHICH THEY NEVER DID. Instead i would say almost every week for the past 1-2 months we encountered this issue during i assume “roll call”. Mind you, up to this date, we have discussed this matter at the counter at least 3 times, and until now we have not received any answers. And today was the final straw for me when i was gestured to pluck my daughter out from the pool to another teacher’s class when i thought this issue has long been sorted.

My two boys have been taking lessons at Aquabubs for almost two years, first in Bangsar and now in United Point. The facilities are modern, very clean, and everything is provided for all ages of children to change, shower, and have fun (from babies). The teachers are all very professional, kind, and educational. My children started at 18 months and 3.5 years old, they have always been confident and have made very good progress. The teachers adapt to the children’s needs, even in group lessons. They learn while having fun and are always happy to go to their lessons. Even my children, who are shy and have difficulty accepting changes, easily moved from one teacher to another. The entire teaching team is great, don’t forget to mention the administrative team, very accommodating and attentive to specific situations. I can only recommend the swimming school.

PS. I forgot to mention the original and very professional holiday camps like the snorkeling one my son attended.

It is a babies and kids friendly swim school. Even the toilets are purpose made for kids. My daughter improved a lot after joining Aquabubs under Teacher Harry and Teacher Kevin. They have step by step syllabus to make sure kids love swimming and know how to swim. Other facilities like nursing room, small playing area, pantry, waiting area etc are available. Sometimes they will have safety week and other events to keep swimming lesson interesting. Since it is indoor pool, we can still attend the class in rainy day. This school is strongly recommended.

D Swim Academy in Kampung Pandan seems like a well-structured learning environment. The emphasis on proper technique and a systematic approach to swimming instruction, rather than just getting someone to ‘swim,’ is a definite plus. The organization of classes and the website for progress tracking shows a commitment to student development and parental involvement.

It appears facilities are well-maintained, with amenities available for both participants and observers. The supportive atmosphere for learners of all ages and abilities, even those with special needs, is also noteworthy. Swimming:
1) Everything is well organized
2) Progress can be check via DSA website. Can also ask input from teachers and accessors
3) Price: seems standard
4) Flexibility provided in rescheduling session
5) My son is autistic – they do accept him into the normal classes after doing the assessment
6) Progression assessment seems to be strict but i think there is a standard that they are upholding to. So as parents, need to assess whether your children is learning from the right teacher, do make changes if needed.

Facilities:
1) Alot of covered benches for parents to seat and observe,
2) Food: Vending machine and there is a cafe available
3) Shower/toilet and changing rooms available (hot shower and body wash provided)

I send my kid here, D Swim has a very systematic way to teach swimming which focus on getting every aspect to be correct such as stroke, breathing, core, position…etc before advancing to next level. “Can swim dosen’t meant you swim correct & efficient”, so Im 100% recommend D swim over many swimming school out there.

I signed up as an adult learner since I never fully learnt how to do all strokes when I was a child. From my observation, it’s a really good place for both adults and kids. The facilities are clean and well maintained, lifeguards are always standing by the pool and the instructor I got at least was quite clear in his instructions. From the first day, I was never made to feel embarrassed for not doing simple strokes properly and was always treated with respect and patience.

Please skip this academy if you plan to sent your kid for swimming class..my kid spent nearly 6 months here but very limited progress.

1. 1 hour session for 5 kids
2. Keep on changing instructor/ teacher
3. Pricey
4. Crowded places and the facilities shower and toilet need to upgrade and repair

I sent my kid to one on one session within the same monthly fee at other place. After 2 sessions only my kid now manage to float and swim confidently.

We’ve been here for the past 7 years and i hv 2 children here. Very nice venue, covered so you are clear to swim even when it rains unlike other places. clean, well maintained, and they are doing reno to the toilets and changing rooms now.
that being said, the classes hv a bit too many kids. i can count the times my kids’ names called by the teachers, they just cant remember. not their fault, its their system. the assessments are very strange, even us with our 7 years there feel that the assessments are just to drag the lessons.
however, there are no lack of coaches there. but i think to get the most of the coaching, you hv to understand how your children learn and get to know the coaches. some coaches are very very nice and soft spoken, some are very very strict and loud. both are suitable for different kinds of learning. we like coach waran, coach fong bee etc because my kids need attention and focus for them to learn better as opposed to jumping around playing in the water but not even a reprimand from the coaches. for example, coach waran, especially, will call out to kids to correct their stroke and demonstrate how the stroke should be. my 10 yr once had a different coach coz we had to change to sunday and he complained that the coach only “tell” him what to do, without demonstration. he cannot understand. and when he doesn’t understand, he will not focus.
All in all, we have not found a more comparable academy.

Frequently Asked Questions about Swimming Classes in Kuala Lumpur

What age groups are typically catered to in swimming classes?

Most swimming schools in Kuala Lumpur offer classes for a wide range of age groups. This generally includes parent-and-child classes for infants, classes for preschoolers, primary school children, teenagers, and adults. Specific age ranges may vary depending on the school and the program offered. Some specialize in early childhood development through water acclimation.

What are the common swimming class levels offered?

Swimming classes are typically structured into different levels to accommodate various skill levels. These usually include beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Beginner classes focus on water acclimation, floating, and basic strokes. Intermediate classes build upon these skills, focusing on stroke refinement and endurance. Advanced classes concentrate on competitive swimming techniques and skill development.

How much do swimming classes typically cost in Kuala Lumpur?

The cost of swimming classes in Kuala Lumpur varies greatly depending on several factors, including the school’s reputation, class duration, instructor qualifications, and the package chosen. Generally, you can expect to pay anywhere from RM50 to RM200+ per class or for a series of lessons. Group classes are usually more affordable than private lessons.

What qualifications should I look for in a swimming instructor?

It's crucial to ensure the swimming instructor is properly qualified. Look for instructors certified by recognized organizations like the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), American Red Cross, or similar bodies. Certifications demonstrate competence in teaching methods, water safety, and rescue techniques. Experience working with different age groups is also a valuable asset.

What equipment will I need for swimming classes?

The required equipment typically includes a swimsuit, a towel, and a goggle. Some classes may require a swim cap, especially for longer hair. Beginners may be provided with flotation devices like kickboards or noodles. It’s always best to confirm with the swimming school regarding specific requirements before attending the class.

What safety measures are usually in place at swimming schools?

Reputable swimming schools prioritize safety and implement several precautions. This often includes certified lifeguards on duty, adherence to strict pool maintenance standards, and first aid equipment readily available. They often have established procedures for handling emergencies and ensuring the well-being of all participants. Understanding their specific protocols is important.

Are there swimming classes specifically designed for adults who can't swim?

Yes, absolutely. Many swimming schools in Kuala Lumpur offer specialized programs for adult beginners who are completely new to swimming. These classes focus on building confidence and comfort in the water, starting with basic skills like floating and breathing exercises before progressing to more advanced techniques. Finding a supportive and patient instructor is key.

How long does it typically take to learn to swim proficiently?

The time it takes to become a proficient swimmer varies greatly depending on individual learning pace, frequency of classes, and natural aptitude. Generally, with regular practice and a qualified instructor, most individuals can learn the basics – being able to float and swim a short distance – within 6 to 12 weeks. Achieving greater proficiency may require more time and dedication.

Are private or group swimming lessons more effective?

Both private and group lessons have their advantages. Private lessons offer personalized attention and allow for a tailored learning experience. They are often beneficial for individuals who learn at a different pace or require specialized instruction. Group lessons are more affordable and can provide a social learning environment, encouraging peer learning. The best choice depends on individual needs and budget.

What should I do if I have a fear of water?

A fear of water, or hydrophobia, is a common issue. It's important to find an instructor who is experienced in working with individuals who have this fear. They should create a supportive and encouraging environment, allowing the student to progress at their own pace, and never forcing them to do anything they're not comfortable with. Building trust and gradually acclimating to the water is essential.
